In this rewarding position, you will be responsible for ensuring high levels of student and faculty satisfaction, compliance with academic policies and procedures, recruiting, training, retaining, and developing outstanding instructors, and focusing on student retention. You will administer lessons following a pre-developed lesson plan, leading your students through the practical, hands-on application of the lessons you teach. Personal Professional Development: * You will establish and implement a plan to cross-train and be able to teach in any phase of training necessary. * You will update the Lead Instructor/Director of Training on the progress of your plan for his/her review and feedback. * It is important to establish and implement a plan to explore continued study of education related issues (i.e., learning styles, learning disability recognition & accommodation, classroom technological capabilities, etc.). Serve as Assistant Instructor as Necessary: * The successful applicant will be willing and capable of participating in any phase of training as a temporary assistant instructor, especially in laboratory settings where our students need additional coverage and supervision. Maintenance of Appropriate Learning Environment: * Instructors conduct monthly classroom and laboratory inspections, noting and addressing any physical facility maintenance needs and the general cleanliness and attractiveness of the area. * You will monitor working condition of training aids and discuss this with phase instructor and report non-working equipment to Lead Instructor/Director of Training. * You will assist classroom instructors in the repair and maintenance of training aids as necessary, without minimizing the instructor's responsibility for training aid maintenance. * You will facilitate maintenance for campus facilities, using available resources. * You may be asked to repair tools/equipment not directly associated with a particular class. Special Student Assistance: * Instructors should be available to help to students needing short term tutoring. * In cases where it is identified that a student needs more extensive tutor attention, you will consult with the Lead Instructor/Director of Training. Safety Program: * Instructors may assist the Lead Instructor/Director of Training in the development and implementation of a safety program. * You will monitor the safety program in classroom and laboratory areas, and remind students and instructors of all safety requirements, and request that the program be follow. * You will report any repeated infractions of the safety requirements of the School to the Lead Instructor/Director of Training. Peer Review and Feedback: * You will monitor each instructor and assistant instructor monthly in their respective classroom/laboratory settings and complete a feedback form of noted observations. * You will provide any appropriate positive or negative feedback for the instructor's review, with recommendations for improvement in areas of need. Time Commitment: * The is position may require work on evenings and weekends in order to meet business need. Students at our welding schools are provided with all the materials they need to hone their skills as they practice, practice, practice in our welding lab! Your primary role as Cutter will be to keep those materials flowing. The successful applicant will ensure that our welding students have access to all the consumables they need to help them successfully move through their program. You will cut pipe and plate coupons for our students to work with, distributing materials to them in an efficient manner to make sure they are prepared for class. You will ensure that the rod ovens are full, and that our students have all the consumables they need to participate fully in the welding lab. Role Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Training and working primarily in the welding lab, you will: * Cut pipe/plate for students to use in the welding lab. * Keep the rod ovens full. * Pass material out to students. * Ensure the cutting area is clean. * Communicate with students and coworkers. * Dump trash and scrap bins. Responsible for preparing students to graduate and enter the workforce. This position also verifies all graduate employment information for compliance and reporting reasons and tracks graduates to maintain communication with them. As Career Services Advisor, is responsible for assisting students in locating part-time positions while attending school and maintaining the Technical Resource Center. Responsibilities: * Updates and maintains the Employment database, documentation, reports and student records in accordance with company policies and accreditation requirements * Provides communication to students regarding employment activities and opportunities * Assists the Director in conducting periodic follow-up reports to determine employment success of graduates and employers' satisfaction with the quality of education * Research opportunities for current students and alumni by accessing both locally and nationally job search web sites, newspapers, state and local employment agencies and other creative means. * Maintains department files, supplies and other sources of information or items on record * Maintains all employment verification records supporting student placements * Collects and maintains complete and current documentation of daily activities (i.e., student records, placement database and placement waivers) * Assist unemployed students with part-time employment, while attending school * Participate in public relations forums to promote the reputation and services of the school (i.e. job fairs, open houses, guest speakers, graduate job visits, etc.) * Assist students to develop employment goals, prepare resumes and interviewing skills * Prepare students for the realistic working world through proper advisory * Maintain individual weekly and monthly accreditation verification goals * Provide employment assistance to students and graduates according to school policies, and federal and state regulations. * Work effectively and collaboratively to achieve student placement goals. * Monitor and track job order status until they are closed. * Assist Director with planning Program Advisor Board meetings. * Mandatory attendance at semi-annual graduation Education and Experience: Associate's degree in related field and minimum two years of Career Services or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
