Summer Resident Teachers and Staff will assist with planning, teaching, and leading the summer program activities for pre-kindergarten through grade 6 students in the classroom, on the playground, and on field trips during the MCA summer program. The program runs from June 3-August 14. Additionally, this program is designed to support your development as a teacher by training you in MCA's New Teacher Induction Program for the first 3 days of Summer (June 3-5). Throughout Summer Residency, you will be provided with coaching and feedback to support your development as a classroom teacher. Regular Staff Meetings will also support your professional growth. Post-summer feedback and recommendations will be provided for you upon the successful completion of the summer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned). Contribute to a positive, mission-aligned summer experience for all students and staff. Organize weekly activities in coordination with the Summer Program Director. Prepare materials, supplies, and classroom spaces for daily student engagement. Assist with arrival/dismissal procedures. Maintain accurate reports and required documentation, as needed. Uphold program values, policies, and expectations for professionalism. Reflect on instructional practices and implement feedback from supervisors or coaches. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions. Supervise students during class, transitions, meals, recess, field trips, and dismissal times.
