Job Description 2026-2027 Upper School Social Studies Teacher Reports To: Dr. George Scouten, Upper School Head & Asst. Head of School Work Schedule: Regular, Full-Time Teaching Schedule The Upper School Social Studies teacher has full responsibility for teaching courses in the social studies department (including advanced classes and electives). The ideal candidate would have experience in a range of classes (e.g., history, government, etc.) and a range of levels (both regular and AP). Essential Functions Teach social studies classes, including advanced classes and electives, and other subjects as assigned. Design a developmentally appropriate curriculum and plan for a well-articulated plan of teaching and assessing. Maintain an engaged classroom environment to support student learning.
