Utilize a variety of intervention, engagement, and cognitive strategies to foster English language development including preparing students for the type of listening and speaking skills required to help them learn from and communicate with classroom teachers
Support the literacy needs of eligible youth/family following the guidance of EL specialists and the EL supervisor
Provide opportunities for eligible students to learn and use academic vocabulary needed for the content areas
Provide support to family members to participate actively in the eligible students' educational experience
Collaborate weekly with EL teachers, classroom teachers and other members of the instructional team to discuss eligible students' progress
Schedule: 5 days per week, 3-5 hours per day
Note: The maximum number of hours a tutor can work per week is 29.
Pay rate: $35.00 per hour ($40.00 per hour if the individual has an active VA teaching license)
