Summary of the role:
Leads the construction management work process discipline, demonstrates lead competencies of directing others, staffing, planning and controlling projects.
Ensures construction of facilities meet EH&S, quality, cost and schedule per the business requirements.
Typically, at this level would lead several intermediate sites executed projects up to a single large project. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
Responsibilities Duties
Champions the use of construction safety best practices and drive to a zero-incident safety culture on contracts.
Leads the Construction Management staff on a particular project, including visible, proactive leadership in all matters related to safety, quality, schedule and cost.
Develops a Construction Management plan to identify construction resource needs for a specific project. Ensures that the budget reflects the plan and works with the project manager, if discrepancies arise. Works with construction resource leader to fill the positions.
Provides the construction expertise in the Front End Loading (FEL) of a project. Minimizes construction costs through proper planning, technology, application and constructability techniques.
Provides input to the Contract Labor Strategy. Manages the construction companies, the labor contracts, resolves claims, monitors and controls labor cost.
Understands and utilizes the Global Capital Work Process (GPM) Construction Work Process discipline. Utilizes the Construction expertise networks.
Assists in the development of effective construction integrated schedules. Ensures that construction schedules are met or that discrepancies are communicated in a timely fashion.
Minimizes start-up and operability issues through the use of quality plans.
Coaches and mentors new and inexperienced construction personnel.
Uses in-depth knowledge of internal and external standards and practices; and knowledge of constructability processes and how to effectively apply to specific project situation to perform role.
Drives the utilization of best practices and technology on project.
Provides continuous improvement feedback to business technology centers and the hardware disciplines on most effective technology (MET) that will enhance safety, cost, and productivity on future projects.
Experience
Bachelor's degree plus construction, engineering, manufacturing is NOT required.
10 Years + experience in construction on large projects or related experience preferred.
In lieu of degree, equivalent years of experience required.

Responsibilities / Duties
Ensure that construction activities are performed in a safe, environmentally sound manner and in compliance with EH&S policies, statutory requirements and EH&S plans established for the project
Provides assistance to contractors in the implementation of all EH&S initiatives on the site. Perform regular site inspections with regard to compliance of all personnel to EH&S Plans and established Safe Work Procedures.
Actively participate in daily/weekly/special safety meetings.
Champions the use of construction safety best practices and drive to a zero-incident safety culture on contracts.
Assume responsibility for the oversight of construction activities.
Ensure regular and visible site presence and direct liaison with the contractor
Supervision to maintain awareness of the status of all activities on the site.

Attend Weekly Coordination Meetings with relevant contractors and provide input with regard to interfacing of work on the site.
Perform regular inspections of contractor's work and verify conformance of work by approving ITPs or other quality documentation
Prepare punch lists for completed work and ensure that punch items are completed and cleared in accordance with schedules. Assist in completion activities including coordination of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities if applicable to ensure that completed systems with all appropriate documentation are handed over to the Client in accordance with contract requirements

Electrical Senior Superintendent
An Electrical Senior Superintendent is the primary jobsite supervisor with operational responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment for large, typically ground up projects requiring complex coordination of multiple subordinate supervisors and crews. This level is capable of supervising large scale commercial projects with a minimum of 10 years total experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of Walker's safety program, adherence to OSHA rules and regulations, and compliance with site-specific safety requirements for all Walker-related personnel, including employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews. Ensure timely responses and document actions/corrections.
Review all other safety-related documentation in a timely manner.
Coordinate and participate in all site-specific OSHA inspections, investigations, claims, as well as any other government inspection and licensing issues.
Provide leadership and direction to Superintends and Foreman. Ensure they are efficiently completing assigned duties.
Communicate frequently with company personnel and subcontractors. Ensure they understand the work, the planned approach and any potential problem areas (with a back-up plan).
Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, material shortages, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage all on-site personnel to ensure project is completed in sequence, per the contract documents/local codes and within projected timeline.
Develop and communicate 3-week look ahead schedules based off master schedule.
Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate same to project team for resolution.
Manage/lead all weekly subcontractor meetings.
Be an integral part in the subcontracting process.
Be an integral part in issuance of Owner Change Orders.
Initiate / Submit RFIs - as applicable to field conditions.
Develop a project site logistics plan and lead site orientation meetings with all workers to review.
Review and understand materials budgets.
Negotiate and execute POs for onsite trailers, storage containers, dumpsters, and other site needs.
Approve invoices for specified job cost codes.
Document and ensure quality control and safety standards.
Track material deliveries and change orders.

Minimum Requirements

Proven/previous experience on projects with complex site work and ground up construction.
Proficient in plan reading, construction design and overall building regulations/laws.
Ability to read, comprehend and process construction documents (plans, specifications, soil reports, safety manuals, etc.)

Summary:

Participate in weekly team meetings;
Verify that mock-ups match the specs and are approved before any material is installed;

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Construction Project Superintendent located in Houston, TX. The Construction Project Superintendent will oversee daily operations of construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and stay on schedule. Responsibilities include coordinating with subcontractors, managing on-site construction activities, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. Candidates who are willing to travel are preferred.

Pirtle Construction is currently seeking a Superintendent to join our South Florida team. The ideal candidate will oversee all field operations and subcontractors at the project site.
POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
The Superintendent will collaborate with the project team to plan, schedule, organize, and direct the construction of large-scale education, residential, municipal, and commercial projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate all construction field activities among subcontractors and other individuals/companies involved with the project.
· Have a strong knowledge of the Construction Documents and ensure that construction complies with these documents.
· Supervise project safety and ensure all workers on site comply with safety requirements and the project safety plan.
· Assess daily staffing of subcontractors and field workforce.
· Assess the daily supply of materials and equipment. Track vendor deliveries of materials to avoid delays and on-site material loss.
· Participate in developing the project schedule and provide the information needed to create, monitor, and modify it on a continuing basis.
· Coordinate with the Project Manager to develop and administer the site utilization program, site services, safety plan, and security arrangements necessary for the project.
· Monitor actual versus required performance by all parties and determine whether subcontractors provide a sufficient workforce and hours of work to achieve performance commitments.
· Maintain thorough familiarity with the general contract requirements and ensure that the requirements are adhered to.
· Responsible for ensuring that fieldwork is performed with a high standard of quality and in an efficient manner.
· Maintain daily progress reports and conduct weekly job site safety meetings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. 7 years of experience in construction with at least 4 Project Superintendent roles.
2. Experience with multifamily, scale education, residential, municipal, and commercial
3. Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a commitment to safety.
4. The candidate must have a professional attitude, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with inspectors, subcontractors, architects, and owner representatives.
5. Must have specific knowledge of field supervision for layout, framing, MEP, and finish trades.
6. Excellent judgment of drywall, paint, and other finish trades relative to construction quality.
7. A thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes.
8. Proven safety track record in conjunction with all OSHA requirements and guidelines.
