Experience teaching/tutoring math, science or English at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
Math instructors must have strong skills in Advanced functions, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Data Management and Trigonometry
Proficiency in Physics and/or Chemistry is preferred
Strong math and science skills and ability to guide students' understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details):
You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:
Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
Teaching in-person
Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
Completing daily student communication updates
Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Proficiency with classes like Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and/or Calculus are a must. The ability to tutor SAT/ACT is a bonus, but not a requirement.

These positions are IN-PERSON at our learning center in McLean, VA, and all candidates must be able to work in center and must be able to commit to at least a year with our kiddos. Please do not apply if you cannot commute to McLean, VA or if you cannot commit to the school year. And don't worry. Responsibilities:
Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals
Tutoring multiple subjects confidently and effectively
Strengthening students' study habits, identifying how each student learns best, and teaching them how to learn
Motivating students who need that extra oomph
Working with up to three students at a time
Demonstrating a firm and loving nature with students, setting effective boundaries and helping them stretch academically! Our kids look up to our coaches as mentors.
Being engaging, nimble, and professional
Keeping detailed records of tutoring sessions
Attending team meetings, socials, and other Tutoring Club events
Compensation and Benefits:
A base salary commensurate with experience and performance-based pay raises. Pay is between $15 -$25 per hour depending on qualifications. We love experienced tutors and will pay more for your experience and abilities!
$150 Signing Bonus after 90 days of employment.

You won't need to do any lesson planning or curriculum development on your own time or hunt for clients or track down payments. Our admin team does all that for you! You just get to come in and have fun with our students.

Qualifications:
Ability to work IN-PERSON (please do not apply if you cannot; we do not have online opportunities).
Ability to commit to at least one year with Tutoring Club (our students depend on it!).
The ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, consisting of at least two, 3+ hour shifts per week, but the more the better (Saturdays are awesome, too!).
Ability to work SOME of the following: School Year - Monday through Thursday 3:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday 3:00pm to 7:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am to 3:00pm; (We begin at 9:00am on weekdays during the summer.).
A Bachelor's degree (or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor's degree).
Access to reliable transportation so you arrive on time.
1+ years of previous tutoring experience (previous teaching experience is not required, but is a plus).
Ability to multitask and to CONFIDENTLY tutor to three students at the table each hour in varying subjects. Don't worry, we provide fantastic training!
A reliable laptop, intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Docs/Sheets and interactive whiteboards, and the ability to CONFIDENTLY navigate the internet and multiple browser tabs. This will make you a whiz at all our online software and make you even more efficient.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, prior tutoring experience, and thorough content knowledge.
