Mike Akerlow is the current CEO of Community Development Corporation of Utah. Mike comes to CDCU after nearly ten years working at Salt Lake City Corporation where he served as the Director of Housing and Neighborhood Development, the Deputy Director of the Department of Community and Neighborhoods, and the Economic Development Manager. In these roles, he was responsible for the management of the City’s allocation of federal grants, overseeing the City’s housing programs, capital asset management and capital improvements programs; real estate services; and the Sorenson Unity Center with the mission to revitalize, strengthen and support Salt Lake City communities. Mr. Akerlow holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah, where he graduated as a member of Phi Kappa Phi and received his Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Nneka Jones is TIME Magazine's most recent cover artist, who hand embroidered the Aug 31st/Sept 7th, 2020 issue. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and minor in Marketing. Her artistic career was kick-started after being featured in the Tampa Bay Times Newspaper for having received the award for Best Emerging Artist at the Gasparilla Festival of Arts, her first public show. She has a passion for marketing and social media, is excellent in working with teams and possesses the self discipline to get the job done on her own.The artist was recently invited as a guest speaker for the Adobe MAX 2020 virtual Creativity Conference and will be presenting on the reality of achieving your goals as an artist, at such a young age.Her goal is to couple her life-long passion for art with a comprehensive understanding of marketing, and to use her creative vitality to support entrepreneurial talent, with a focus on synergy and mutual professional growth.
