Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shift Supervisor is accountable for the first line supervision at the Alvarado, Texas Sabre Tubular Structures Manufacturing Facility including all actions concerning Manufacturing, Safety, Productivity, and Quality.

* Gives daily work assignments to personnel within the Shop. Makes decisions regarding work priorities based on published schedules and conversations with department manager, taking into account his/her knowledge of assigned personnel, individual skills, and existing personnel vacancies.
* Continuously monitors progress on daily work schedules to assure that satisfactory progress is being made.
* Maintains files and records of employee attendance and performance. Provides daily reports of time and attendance for payroll purposes.
* Based on personal observation and existing reporting systems, evaluates performance of all employees in terms of safety, quality, productivity and attendance. Initiates training and/or corrective action to correct deficiencies.
* Maintains authorized staffing levels. When vacancies occur, initiates appropriate documents to get positions filled through internal postings and/or outside hiring. Interviews candidates and, within prescribed guidelines, selects candidate recommended for each position.
* Communicates regularly with the other department supervisors in person and by telephone. Attends meetings to exchange information with other supervisors, managers and other employees. Conducts meetings within his/her department and shift to communicate with subordinates in a group setting.

Job Summary: The MachineOperator is responsible for setting up the production line, collaborating with the production line team, reading and understanding job tickets, and ensuring all jobs are processed properly. This position works Monday-Friday; 6:00am-2:00pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reads, understands, and accurately follows Job Ticket Instructions, completes job ticket paperwork and obtains proper approvals.
Sets up and adjust layouts to match data proofs, diagnose and troubleshoot errors and start up and shut down the production line; if changes are made ensure proper approvals are performed.

Sets up and operates various machines and hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden cabinets, high grade furniture, countertops and mirrors.
Checks in parts, verifies count, quality and identification of all product that is produced in assigned area, prior to shipment to the next process.
Performs daily maintenance checks and notifies Manager or lead person if problems arise.
Troubleshoots and performs preventative maintenance on machines.
Participates and contributes to a work team environment and follows quality control checks.
Contributes to meeting Bertch manufacturing schedule.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read measurement tools.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials up to or exceeding 50 lbs.
Ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be 8-10 hours)
Work Environment
Employees must be able to cope with Iowa climates; endure heat and cold conditions in the building. Fast paced workloads and loud noise levels are normal. Paint fumes and exposure to chemicals associated may be present. Personal Protective Equipment as required by OSHA will be provided by the Company.

The MachineOperator is responsible for operatingmachines in the assigned department. The machines range from various difficulty levels, and may include the following:
Table Saw
Chop Saw
Drill Press
Kreg Drill
Glue Clamp
Planer/Sander
Straight Line Rip Saw
Dovetail MachineryMachine and Hand Sanders
