KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads and interprets blueprints and test sheets; gathers and organizes all parts in a logical building order.
Determines appropriate work surface (table, saw horse, floor).
Grinds parts as necessary in preparation for welding and finalizing.
Sets welding gun to correct thickness; operates welding gun and plasma torch to weld and cut necessary holes.
Produces quality welds on a variety of metals (mild steel, aluminum, stainless and galvanized steel), while operating in horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
Visually inspects work to ensure that all parts are correctly welded to TCF engineering and quality standards (no holes, splatter or incorrect measurements).
Tags product; requests supervisor/team lead inspection of product.
Operates forklift/bridge crane/pallet jack to deliver product to wash or blast booth.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
12+ months' related experience and/or training (technical school) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational technical school preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English.
Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to use tools in a safe and proper manner.
Based on department, may be required to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and electric pallet jack.

The Production Operator - Welder role encompasses a progressive hands-on career path within the JPW Industries manufacturing environment, supporting the assembly, fabrication, and quality assurance of machinery, components, and sub-systems. Operators at all levels play a vital role in meeting production targets, ensuring product quality and upholding workplace safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operator 1 - Production
Use hand, power and production tools to assemble machine units, sub-assemblies, and parts to meet product tolerances and specifications
Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings
Use measuring instruments to verify alignments and tolerances of moving parts
Install wiring and electrical components to specifications
Remove small quantities of metal using hand files or portable grinders
Pain and install pre-manufactured parts into sub- or final machine assemblies as required
Bend and install pipe for hydraulic systems
Operate forklift to transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the production facility.
Read and understand work orders, work instructions, or process documents to accurately and efficiently produce products to specifications
Operate equipment and follow chemical treatment procedures to apply black oxide coating to metal parts, adhering to standard operating procedures and quality control standards.
Maintain production documentation
Perform routine quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
Operator 2 - Production
Satisfactorily performs all responsibilities of an Operator 1 - Production, including:
Perform basic to intermediate welding operations as required to assemble, repair, or modify components during the production process, following blueprints, work instructions and safety guidelines.
Assist in the fabrication and fitting of complex machine subassemblies, ensuring high standards of alignment, tolerance, and functionality
Assemble, install and align mechanical components such as gearboxes, shafts, levers, and bearings
Route and install hydraulic tubing and hoses with precision, following schematics and bend specifications
Perform basic wiring tasks such as routing and terminating wires for motors, sensors, control panels, and electrical components with accuracy and adherence to diagrams and safety standards
Maintain accurate build records and production documentation, including checklists, quality control forms and rework
Operator 3 - Production
Satisfactorily performs all responsibilities of an Operator 2 - Production, including:
Monitor production workflow, identifying and escalating issues related to materials, equipment or workforce production
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, suggesting process improvements, and assisting with implementation.
Lead complex machine builds and custom assembly projects that require advanced troubleshooting, fabrication, or integration of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads and interprets blueprints and test sheets; gathers and organizes all parts in a logical building order.

Grinds parts as necessary in preparation for welding and finalizing.
Sets welding gun to correct thickness; operates welding gun and plasma torch to weld and cut necessary holes.
Produces quality welds on a variety of metals (mild steel, aluminum, stainless and galvanized steel), while operating in horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
Visually inspects work to ensure that all parts are correctly welded to TCF engineering and quality standards (no holes, splatter or incorrect measurements).
Tags product; requests supervisor/team lead inspection of product.
Operates forklift/bridge crane/pallet jack to deliver product to wash or blast booth.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
12+ months' related experience and/or training (technical school) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Vocational technical school preferred.

Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to use tools in a safe and proper manner.
