HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO

Do you pride yourself in being a jack-of-all trades? The Laborer is our entry level position that is critical to support plant needs by ensuring a safe and productive work environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to use different skills every day as you learn the aggregate industry and fill in for vacancies in various areas of our plant.

  • Load and unload trucks following safe operating procedures
  • Operate mobile equipment on plant property (loader, haul truck, water truck, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant work areas
  • Assist with plant tasks including lubrication, maintenance, repairs
  • Transport materials to and from storage and shop areas
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures; assist with physical inspections of plant property/departments.

This position will be based in Mason City, IA

HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in an open pit mine a plus
  • Experience using (or ability to learn) plant mobile equipment
  • Ability to use shovel, broom, jackhammer, sweeper, forklift, bobcat and vacuum truck.
  • Ability to work from elevated heights
  • Ability to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime required
  • Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment

Pay starts at $21.28/hr. with an increase to $22.55/hr. after a probationary period of sixty days. Scheduled increases are per the collective bargaining agreement. Shift differentials and Sunday premium pay also apply. Excellent benefits including twelve paid holidays, 401K with automatic matching company contributions, vacation, the company paid disability, life insurance, AD&D, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and tuition reimbursement.

There are many opportunities to move to other positions in the plant as well as the company. The Mason City plant produces cement 24 hours/day and 365 days/year and includes quarry and shipping operations.

A Delivery Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck intrastate and/or interstate on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and/or overnight routes to deliver and unload various food and food related products to customers. All routes are expected to be completed safely in accordance with all Company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The driver communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring all services and duties are executed in accordance with preferred work methods and customer service practices.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report any and all safety hazards.Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Check and complete in an accurate and in legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas. Perform damage control checks on items, scanning and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required. Load customer returns on to trailer and secure trailer doors.Ensure that tractor, trailer and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.Unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork. Do you pride yourself in being a jack-of-all trades? The Laborer is our entry level position that is critical to support plant needs by ensuring a safe and productive work environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to use different skills every day as you learn the aggregate industry and fill in for vacancies in various areas of our plant.

  • Load and unload trucks following safe operating procedures
  • Operate mobile equipment on plant property (loader, haul truck, water truck, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant work areas
  • Assist with plant tasks including lubrication, maintenance, repairs
  • Transport materials to and from storage and shop areas
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures; assist with physical inspections of plant property/departments.

This position will be based in Mason City, IA

HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in an open pit mine a plus
  • Experience using (or ability to learn) plant mobile equipment
  • Ability to use shovel, broom, jackhammer, sweeper, forklift, bobcat and vacuum truck.
  • Ability to work from elevated heights
  • Ability to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime required
