Job Description:
• Provides project coordination and help desk support to volunteers on operation systems.
• Triage support tickets to the appropriate groups within the programs; review and process tax site data requests, and system support tickets.
• Maintain assigned Tax-Aide Library sections in the Volunteer Portal ensuring that materials are properly organized and relevant.
• Works closely with the Tax-Aide Operations team to coordinate and provide business support to determine business opportunities for increased efficiencies for the program.
• Actively and consistently participate in Tax-Aide's Operations Team, National Operations Committee-associated meetings, and Tax-Aide All team meetings.
• In collaboration with Tax-Aide team members, volunteers, and vendors, coordinate the review, development, and enhancement of e-learning courses.
• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• At least 2 years of proven work experience supporting the help desk, contact center, and development of training materials.
• Exhibit a heightened sense of accountability to internal and external stakeholders and for outcomes created.
• Preference to take responsibility, coordinate multiple projects at once, and deliver professional work-product promptly and on deadline.

Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. In addition to the above:
Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the NZ-08/GS-08 level in the Federal Service. For this position specialized experience is defined as: 1) coordinating and supervising Police Operations, 2) supplying data for estimating budgetary requirements particularly for uniforms, equipment, supplies, etc.; 3) providing recommendations to the Commanding Officer regarding staffing requirements, performance standards, new policies, procedures and instructions for a more efficient police service; 4) rating and reviewing performance of police personnel; and 5) promoting high morale and maintaining discipline.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). What to Expect
Boatswains Mates perform most of their duties outdoors, working closely with others. The majority of their work is physical in nature.
Work Environment
BMs spend about 60% of their time assigned to fleet units and 40% assigned to shore stations over a 20-year career. They often work in outdoor environments, which can be physically demanding and involve teamwork.
Training & Advancement
Upon completion of Recruit Training, BMs attend a four-week A school in Great Lakes, IL, where they learn basic general safety, watch standing, deck seamanship, underway replenishment, and preventive maintenance. Selected BMs may receive additional amphibious
training depending on future assignments. Promotion opportunities are above average compared to other Navy ratings.
Education Opportunities

* Track hardware and software systems inventory and replenish based on refresh cycle.

The Protective Force (PF) Explosives Detection Team (EDT) program exists to detect and thereby deter the introduction of explosives devices into the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Headquarters (HQ) facilities. This critical program uses a graded security systems approach to address potential explosive threats deemed to be credible as determined by a Security Risk Assessment (SRA) of covered facilities. Program elements will be developed and implemented as required to address applicable threat conditions as they develop or change over the course of time.
Explosive threats include both actual physical attempts to introduce an explosive device and communicated threats such as bomb threats to the facilities. Bomb threats cause significant disruption to DOE operations and pose an unacceptable danger to government employees, contractor employees, and visitors and therefore should be resolved as quickly and orderly as possible.
Explosive detection team will be deployed to assist emergency response management to search and clear areas, vehicles, and items determined to be potential explosive threats. EDTs are often utilized to clear designated meeting locations, venues, and adjacent facilities prior to the arrival of certain dignitaries as determined by the Secretary of Energy or their designee. EDTs are a proven reliable resource to detect explosives. Visible deployment of highly trained explosives detection canine teams in view of the public is also a proven deterrent to potential terrorist actions directed towards DOE HQ and provides a timely and mobile response to support its facilities during emergency events.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Explosive detection team operations will be integrated into the daily operations of the PF at the Forrestal and Germantown facilities.
Explosive detection team handlers will take their operational direction from the Canine Lieutenant and / or the Shift Lieutenant.
The Canine Program Manager will be responsible for providing programmatic direction and control of the explosive detective team program. These requirements are further detailed in the following sections of this procedure.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Applicant must possess a high school diploma, or its state recognized
Experience: Applicant must have a minimum of two (2) years of certifiable training and experience as a canine explosive detection team handler.

Training:

Event Planning Manager

Cooley is seeking a Event Planning Manager to join the Marketing and Business Development team.
The Event Planning Manager will manage all aspects of external events, from planning and development to execution and post-event follow-up, in collaboration with the events team, lawyers and other support departments. In addition, the Event Planning Manager will manage and oversee daily administrative operations of the direct reports. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position responsibilities:
Plan, organize and implement marketing events hosted and/or sponsored by Cooley, ensuring exceptional attendee experiences and maximum ROI
Serve as the primary point of contact leading each assigned event
Represent Cooley on-site at events, as necessary
Manage virtual events using Zoom
Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development team members on event strategy/goals and materials
Determine creative, cost-effective approaches for all events and provide detailed implementation proposals to event team members or attorneys
Research all aspects of events (venues, timing, housing, catering, transportation, registration, entertainment, decoration, billing, communications/invitations, RSVPs, room blocks, name badges, food and beverage, room set-up, speakers, AV, production and handouts, off-site activities, giveaways, shipping, branding, etc.) according to internal client needs, including price comparison and site inspections
Research, solicit proposals from, and conduct site visits and inspections of potential event properties, including hotels and resorts, restaurants, bar/lounges, and special event spaces. Prepare visual presentations and/or cost-comparison spreadsheets of venue recommendations, as requested
Negotiate contracts for venues, caterers, and other vendors and suppliers, working closely with the firm's internal contract review team to ensure compliance
Conduct post-event evaluations, including client and participant satisfaction and ROI
Create and manage budgets of varying sizes, tracking and demonstrating ROI
Work in collaboration with various Cooley departments (i.e., Technology, Facilities, Catering) to execute events
Establish event design and staging (i.e., media needs, lighting, audio-visual) and event agenda (i.e., speaker order, breaks, meals) as well as shipping of event materials if off-site
Use Salesforce to run reports, manage lists, and track RSVPs, attendance, follow-up, etc.
Provide planning and RSVP updates, Salesforce “who-knows-whom” reports and identify appropriate event follow-up activities to maximize business development potential
Develop and manage event timelines, communicating deadlines and assignments to marketing business professionals and consultants, as necessary
Work with in-house design business professionals to develop creative and compelling event themes
Work with in-house communications team to develop social media and PR/press plans to leverage and promote relevant events
Utilize data from past events to enact changes to improve future results
Build and maintain an international network of other event planners and third-party resources
Manage relationships with trade organizations, conference organizers and other third-party partners
Function as main point of contact between Cooley and these relationships
Ensure relevant events are posted to the firm's website, internal calendar, etc.
Implement best practices, policies and workflow procedures to ensure the efficient and effective execution of all events
Work with in-house digital marketing team to build and send invitations and other collateral with the firm's email marketing system (Pardot). Run reports, track distribution, etc.
Manage and assign tasks to on-site business professionals, which may include other members of the marketing department, other Cooley business professionals, or vendors/consultants
Work with organizations that approve CLE, CDP, and other professional education credits for course accreditation
Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports
Provide day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with assigned work hours and monitor for compliance with all firm and department policies. Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/time off requests
Support business professional development and continued educational opportunities
In collaboration with immediate supervisor and CN HR, participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events

Skills and experience:
Required:
After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
Ability to travel, as required
5+ years of event management experience
Experience running virtual events; highly proficient in Zoom
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree with preference of business, communication, marketing or related field
Experience in planning multiple high-level, logistically complicated events simultaneously
Experience with vendor contract negotiations, particularly hotels and catering
Familiarity with legal services provided by a full-service corporate law firm and needs/expectations of their clients

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $115,000 - $145,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
