Bluffton Okatie Surgery Center is a multi-specialty surgical center.
We are seeking to add a PART-TIME SURGICAL TECHNICIAN to our amazing clinical team.
Surgical technicians assist surgeons and other medical professionals in hospital operating rooms and similar environments.
Chiefly, they prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for pending surgical procedures.
They also assist during those procedures as part of a team of operating room professionals.
They are an integral part of ensuring sterile procedures/protocols are being followed.
In preparing operating rooms, surgical technicians ensure that all of the equipment needed for the procedure is properly disinfected and assembled.
They also check that the equipment is in working order.
They place sterile solutions in areas where they can be easily reached by doctors.
To prepare patients for surgery, surgical technicians may clean, shave and disinfect the areas of a patient's body that will be operated on.
They then move patients to the OR and position them on the operating table, using sterile surgical drapes to cover them.
Monitoring patients' vital signs and observing their status is another job responsibility of a surgical technician.
During surgery, surgical technicians pass sterile surgical equipment, such as scalpels and forceps, to surgeons.
They also might cut sutures, keep track of items like sponges and needles, operate lights, and help dress a patient's wounds.
Additionally, surgical techs are sometimes responsible for the preparation and disposal of lab specimens.
Required Skills:
High school graduate or equivalent
Previous clinical experience in an Operating Room environment is desired.
Certification in OR Technology or Surgical Technology approved by the state of SC is required unless grandfather or excluded per regulation.
Current certification in CPR.
Collaborative and Positive disposition towards teamwork is required.
In addition to making sure anyone entering the surgical area has "scrubbed," surgical technologists or scrub techs must make sure that all the instruments they will be using are, too.
Scrub techs also have the responsibility to make sure that all the equipment and tools the surgical staff are using are clean and safe so that there's no harm to the patient.
Surgical technologists must confirm that all the instruments are collected and sterilized after surgery and that the operating room is cleaned and totally disinfected for the next procedure

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Area Leader is responsible for overseeing and managing the timely and efficient collection of waste, recycling, and compost across 20 to 40 multifamily communities. This role includes supervising a team of 15 to 40 part-time Service Valets and ensuring that service delivery meets the highest standards of quality within the assigned territory. This position requires a blend of hands-on leadership, team supervision, and strong organizational skills to deliver seamless operations and exceed service expectations.
Hourly Pay Range: $21-$22.50
Schedule: The core work hours are 6:00pm 12:30am, with two additional flex hours and a 30-minute unpaid meal break to complete the 8-hour shift. Shifts may vary depending on business and operational needs.

Regularly visit communities to assess service quality, complete container audits, identify any potential safety concerns, and promptly report or address issues as needed
Utilize the iValet dashboard to monitor performance in real-time, identifying opportunities for improvement to enhance both productivity and service quality
Review arrival, departure, tracking, observation and last call photographs
Respond to and log resident or community complaints in Salesforce, ensuring timely resolution and documentation of all concerns
Actively seek alternative coverage for Service Valet callouts, and step in to cover shifts when no alternative is available to maintain uninterrupted service
Ensure Service Valets have the resources needed to perform service, including equipment, access keys, and other necessary tools
Collect necessary supplies such as personal protective equipment (PPE), containers, and brochures from the warehouse, and assist with container distributions and other tasks to ensure client satisfaction
Team Support:
Provide training on company procedures, ensuring compliance with policies, safety standards, and best practices, while instilling our mission of delivering exceptional service
Supervisors are responsible for ensuring Service Valets uphold our mission, taking the trash whenever possible and leaving educational tags when guidelines aren't followed
Create, maintain, and communicate work schedules with clarity and professionalism, ensuring Service Valets receive sufficient notice to plan their weeks effectively
Oversee and approve timecards, verifying that reported hours are accurate and align with the budgeted hours expected for each community
Ensure adherence to safety standards, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and promptly report any safety incidents
Offer ongoing coaching to support Service Valets and recognize their efforts with positive, constructive feedback

Requirements
Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
5 years' experience within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Important Note: Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.
Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service
Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records and logs Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Other tasks as assigned
