We are seeking our next Adjunct Faculty - for Advanced Manufacturing -Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) who will be all-in on our mission and who will provide high-quality instruction in HVAC systems, service, and technology. This role is dedicated to preparing students for careers in residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC, with an emphasis on safety, technical proficiency, and industry standards. Teaching responsibilities include classroom, laboratory, online, or tech-supported instruction, along with preparation of course materials, lesson planning, and continuous improvement in subject matter expertise. This position is filled on an as needed basis, contingent upon institutional needs. Qualifications EDUCATION: Required: Associate Degree or higher in HVAC, Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field. * Relevant industry certifications (EPA, NATE, HVAC Excellence, etc.) and substantial professional experience may substitute for educational requirements. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Advanced Manufacturing, or related field. EXPERIENCE: Required: Three (3) years of recent, industry-related HVAC work experience. Preferred: Five (5) years of industry-related HVAC work experience, including teaching, training, or mentoring. Job Duties & Responsibilities * Teach HVAC courses each semester using effective, engaging, and safe instructional methods. * Deliver instruction in classrooms, labs, online, and off-campus sites (e.g., Dumas, Hereford, partner high schools, or TDCJ Unit). * Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate hands-on learning and industry-relevant practices. * Prepare syllabi, course materials, and instructional resources in alignment with AC's curriculum standards. * Evaluate student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback. * Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, attendance, and performance. * Advise, mentor, and support students in their academic and career goals. * Participate in course and curriculum development, revision, and assessment. * Attend faculty meetings, orientations, and training as required. * Ensure compliance with all industry safety standards in lab and classroom environments. * Perform other work-related duties as required. * As an Amarillo College employee, seek knowledge of and pledge to actively engage in a culture of caring striving to serve students, peers and the community by embracing the AC Core Values: Wow, Family, Fun, Innovation, and Yes!
