JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide quality care to patients undergoing imaging procedures. The Radiology Technology Assistant must also demonstrate full knowledge of the imaging procedures within their assigned modality.
The Radiology Technical Assistant will adhere to all applicable safety policies. They will work under the direction of the Modality Technologist, Modality Lead or Supervisor, and Imaging Manager.
This position is primarily for performing Dexa scans on patients. Other duties include scanning paperwork, scrubbing schedules, completing exams, and various other clerical tasks as needed for the Breast Imaging Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Assists in preparing room for radiologic procedures by ensuring required supplies are available.
* Assists with patient flow within assigned modality setting.
* Responsible for transportation of patients using patient bed, stretcher, or wheelchair as necessary.
* Provides comfort measures to patient.
* Prepares and assists patients undergoing examinations, and procedures to include patient positioning.
* Stocks rooms, carts, cabinets, linen etc. as assigned or requested Demonstrates competence in IV establishment and maintenance.
* Provides and maintains a clean, safe imaging suite and performs and/or assists others to perform proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures and infection control measures.
* Recognizes patient care priorities and manage unexpected or emergent situations.
* Checks equipment and supplies for expiration dates, electrical safety tags, intactness, and usability.
* Reports equipment and supplies needing replaced or repaired.
* Consistently model AIDET principles.
* Consistently communicates in a professional and courteous manner.
* Demonstrates acceptable productivity and practices cost containment.

The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. This position is critical to Solis Mammography; by providing outstanding care and efficient results, the technologist impacts the profitability of the organization as well as the patient experience.
A Day in the Life of a Mammography Technologist:
Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;
Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions;
Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Here is what you will need:
Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography;
ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible;
Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT;
High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred;
Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location;
Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred;
Two years of experience in mammography is preferred;
Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;
Prior quality control experience preferred;
Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology;
Ability to stand for long periods of time
