This position hours are from: 04:00 PM - 04:30 AM. Pay range from $27.95-$39.90 (shift differential of $0.75 for night shift) based upon experience. There is potential to progress quickly within levels based on completed training and demonstrated skills on the job. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Must be familiar with ammonia, plant ammonia systems, electrical refrigeration, and other industrial maintenance. RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation Must be willing and able to monitor The Tyson refrigeration mechanics, operate, repair ammonia systems, and refrigeration equipment including but not limited to: Compressors, Evaporators, Condensers, Piping systems, Insulation systems and General equipment related to Ammonia systems. Must be willing and able to Conduct preventative maintenance and conduct safety checks throughout their area. Must be willing and able to Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor/manager Must be willing and able to Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Must be willing and able to have experience with plant compressed air system and all water supply systems (Ex: Chill water, hot water, city water, and glycol systems). Must be willing and able to pass a basic physical and pass a pulmonary test (breathing test). You must be able to wear a Respirator (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus). Completion of respirator training certification will be required. Must be willing and able to Stand, walk, bend, stretch, push, and reach are required in all areas, and must be able to climb up/downstairs and ladders. Must be willing and able to work in harsh environments for short periods of time (Ex: Heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud, etc.). Must be willing and able to move to different areas of the plant and deal with different temperatures and environment in accordance to where they are needed. Must be willing and able to have strong communication skills to be able to communicate with various members of management, Quality Assurance, vendors and USDA. The applicant must be able to understand technical training manuals. Must be willing and able to be capable to read, write, and use math skills in order to complete necessary paperwork. Must be willing and able to work competently and efficiently with little or no supervision. Must be willing and able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. Must be willing and able to work other shifts to cover for vacation, training, and special projects, etc. REQUIREMENTS: Refrigeration or Process Safety Management (PSM) experience is preferred not required. Experience or education on any refrigeration system is a plus, with a willingness to learn the ammonia refrigeration trade. Must have a minimum of (6) months of continuous work experience in maintenance with a single employer within the last (12) months or currently attending/graduated from an industrial maintenance training program in the last (3) years. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
