The position will perform high level machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation and modification of integrated systems and provide technical support for all phases of the operation. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality. This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters including a thorough understanding of electrical controls fluid power mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Training beyond High School including either: Associate (A.S.) degree in Electronics Technology (or closely related technical field), or a combination of education and experience which may include Skilled Trades programs or military training.
Experience: Minimum 4+ years automation experience and/or industrial maintenance experience; requires experience in electrical safety and lockout/tagout processes and procedures; experience in troubleshooting and operation of complex electrical, mechanical, networking, PLC systems and microprocessors.
Computer Skills: Competent in Windows-based software such as Microsoft Excel and Word; strong skills in documentation organization, the use of technical materials, and research techniques. Must either be proficient or become proficient in SAP Maintenance. Basic level of windows and machine networking and IT skills preferred.
Communication Skills: High level of verbal communication skills; must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management as well as government officials and tech and vendors.
Special Skills: High level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills. The ability to function effectively in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management and operations personnel; must demonstrate skills in the area of AC/DC circuits, industrial electrical systems, PLCs, machine networks, and knowledge in the theory and application of electronic devices; working knowledge and skills in tools and components used in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, clutches, belts, and seals; ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems; parts inventory and recordkeeping for critical parts. Must be able to work alone, self start and set own priorities. Must be willing to assist in training of less experienced techs.

This facility is a highly automated meat processing/packaging facility located in Kansas City, KS. This position works overnight, 12-hour shifts; 6am-6pm, or 6 pm - 6 am. Rotating two-week schedule with a 3-day weekend off every other week.
Pay Range: $29.75 to $42.50/HR (
Pay commensurate with experience)
With little to no supervision provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems. Must be able to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment and the ability to effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (
Include, but are not limited to, the following)
Performing and consulting on robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs.
Expertly performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment.
Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics will be required for this role.
Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team.
Must assist and support training and development of more junior Refrigeration Technicians.
Also responsible for minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure.
Basic math skills; percentages, fractions and measurements
Must have Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including Pneumatics, PLC's, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired.

Must be willing and able to perform frequent overhead work
Must be willing and able to work with temperatures inside plant that may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees and outside work will be required
