Job Details:
This role is responsible for delivering expert technical support to producers caring for company-owned poultry, ensuring optimal bird welfare and comfort. Key responsibilities include advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter management, and farm sanitation practices. The position involves conducting farm visits to assess and document bird comfort, flock management, and equipment settings, as well as monitoring bird health and implementing remedies when necessary. Additional duties include tracking feed consumption, coordinating feed orders, timely collection of blood and fat samples, and managing chick placements and catch schedules. This role serves as a vital communication link between hatchery, feed mill, and live haul teams to ensure seamless operations across contract farms. The incumbent ensures compliance with production contracts and all USDA and government regulations, aiming to produce high-quality flocks with optimal performance and cost efficiency. Collaboration with Broiler and Breeder Departments to coordinate weekly chick placements and other related responsibilities is also expected.

The plant Continuous Improvement Lead is responsible for driving the Tyson Lean MOS (Manufacturing Operating System) processes and ensuring the plant is following the standardized methodology. Assess culture of adoption with the plant team by using the maturity assessment tool to define ownership. Lean Leader is responsible to develop action plans with plant leadership to improve their processes to be eligible for the next set of lean tools within 90 to 120 days post-deployment.
Assist Operations Leadership with maintaining and updating all standard work instructions to align with the company standard.
Troubleshoot and escalate any issues related to the automated SPQDC boards. Work in conjunction with Plant Manager to escalate any problems not remediated through problem solving processes to Level 4.
Ensure all documentation is done correctly and submitted along with the escalation.
Participate/Lead Kaizen events that get generated from problem solving escalations.
Collaborate with all cross-functional departments as needed to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to senior management and stakeholders. Coordinate with stakeholders and team members to ensure project milestones are met within established timelines.
Implement change management methodologies to ensure successful adoption of process improvements. Train and support all new employees on the Tyson Lean MOS processes to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes and increase efficiency. Identify and analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in food science or agriculture is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 2+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. A Lean/CI background is a plus.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively engage people at all levels of the organization, solid coaching and mentoring skills, ability to develop and create documentation to include work instructions, SOP's, playbooks, program administration, weekly report outs, templates, and forms.
Travel: Less than 20% travel after participating in the deployment of the Tyson Lean MOS processes at another facility.
Specific Skills: Strong business acumen, lean and/or continuous improvement skills, process management background, strong computer skills in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms; SAP, Power BI, Redzone, and other Smart Factory applications.

Your Impact

Your Experience
* High school diploma or General Educational Development required; a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience leading maintenance teams or technicians.
* Proven ability to read and interpret technical documents including blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and safety procedures.
* Demonstrated experience implementing and managing preventive maintenance programs.
* Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
* Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office tools.
* Comfortable writing clear and concise reports, maintenance procedures, and job descriptions.
* Comfortable performing basic calculations and apply concepts of algebra and geometry in practical settings.
* Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
* CAD or drafting experience is a plus
