Position Summary
The Lenexa Police Department Internship Program is designed and dedicated to providing practical work experience to students through research, training, and skill development. Students will be supervised by the professional, committed, and proactive officers of the Lenexa Police Department.
Interns should be highly motivated persons seeking a career in law enforcement. These interns will complete training tasks, written reports, and participate in ride-alongs with numerous officers and specialized units. The program is highly structured, with the intent of providing the intern with the education and experience required for possible future law enforcement careers. Historically, many of our interns have had success in obtaining full-time LPD positions upon graduation.
Key Responsibilities of Intern Program
Completes a minimum of 320 hours with the Lenexa Police Department. Hours may be added, if necessary, at the request of the student/university.
Completes hands-on training; participates in ride-alongs, and learns the skills needed for specialized units, including patrol, SWAT, investigations, K-9 and support services.
Completes mirror reports that will give them practical work experience in documentation and also allowing officers to critique work and performance.
Completes a research paper that will be submitted to the Sergeant overseeing the intern program.
Qualifications
Minimum
: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Must be enrolled in an associate, bachelor s, or graduate degree program that requires an internship. Must pass an oral interview with the Intern Sergeant and designated officers.
Desired
: Pursuing a career in a criminal justice or health and human services field. Have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The Computational Modeling group in the BEST directorate at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is seeking an summer undergraduate or post-undergraduate research intern to perform computational modeling and data analysis to enable optimization and scale-up of catalytic bioenergy processes.
The intern will work closely with other computational scientists and experimentalists to perform, analyze, and validate simulations of biomass and other feedstocks undergoing catalytic and thermochemical conversion processes using process scale models.
Responsibilities include:
+ Performing simulations using high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and reduced order models of transport and reactive processes within catalytic reactor systems
+ Implementing kinetic schemes into reduced order models and performing optimization routines to fit kinetic parameters
+ Analyzing validation experiments
+ Programming scripts to analyze results from simulations
+ Providing regular written and oral progress updates at project meetings
+ Working safely and independently in a laboratory setting

Position Summary
The Lenexa Police Department Internship Program is designed and dedicated to providing practical work experience to students through research, training, and skill development. Students will be supervised by the professional, committed, and proactive officers of the Lenexa Police Department.

These interns will complete training tasks, written reports, and participate in ride-alongs with numerous officers and specialized units. Key Responsibilities of Intern Program
* Completes a minimum of 320 hours with the Lenexa Police Department. Hours may be added, if necessary, at the request of the student/university.
* Completes hands-on training; participates in ride-alongs, and learns the skills needed for specialized units, including patrol, SWAT, investigations, K-9 and support services.
* Completes mirror reports that will give them practical work experience in documentation and also allowing officers to critique work and performance.

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties
* Provide respectful, professional, positive service in all interactions between co-workers, internal and external customers, community members, and the public at large.
* Maintain a positive and productive environment, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, goals and objectives of the City, Department and Division.
* Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution system.
* Assist with fixing water mains and service leaks, and other distribution assets.
* Assist with inspection and maintenance of fire hydrants and valves, including painting fire hydrants, exercising valves, flushing hydrants to remove water main line sediment to assure water quality and fire protection and completing minor repairs as needed.
* Assist with yard restoration and maintenance, including brush hog easements, yard restorations from excavations, sod installations, vegetation control program, and mowing city water division properties.
* Assist full water main installation projects.
* Locates, identifies, and marks city utilities including valves, hydrants, water and sewer mains, manholes and meter structures. Accurately records and updates GPS locations of infrastructure for GIS mapping updates and maintenance programs.
* Perform daily operations such as processing setter replacements, locates, valve exercising, leak detection investigations, customer concerns, installation, repairs and replacing water meters, meter pits /lids and valve boxes. and complete monthly nonpayment disconnects.
* Completes meter reading, service tickets, concerns, leak checks, non-consumption meter checks and disconnects for utility billing purposes.
* Assist with DNR and EPA water testing and reporting functions under licensed operator supervision.
* Assist with backflow prevention program inspections and waivers.
* Perform the job safely and in compliance with safety policies and procedures.

**Job Description**
The Computational Modeling group in the BEST directorate at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is seeking an summer undergraduate or post-undergraduate research intern to perform computational modeling and data analysis to enable optimization and scale-up of catalytic bioenergy processes.
The intern will work closely with other computational scientists and experimentalists to perform, analyze, and validate simulations of biomass and other feedstocks undergoing catalytic and thermochemical conversion processes using process scale models.
Responsibilities include:
+ Performing simulations using high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and reduced order models of transport and reactive processes within catalytic reactor systems
+ Implementing kinetic schemes into reduced order models and performing optimization routines to fit kinetic parameters
+ Analyzing validation experiments
+ Programming scripts to analyze results from simulations
+ Providing regular written and oral progress updates at project meetings
+ Working safely and independently in a laboratory setting
+ Planning and executing research in collaboration with other researchers
+ Contributing to the creation of technical reports and peer-reviewed publication
+ Working effectively in a large, multidisciplinary, multi-institutional team of engineers and scientists.

The annual salary for the Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Trainee classification is $102,260.07 per year. This includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay and a (3.75%) Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Certification Pay.
Upon successful completion of training, Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Trainees are eligible for promotion to the Public Safety Radio Dispatcher classification. The salary range for the Public Safety Radio Dispatcher classification is currently $109,443.99 - $133,053.03 annually. This includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay and a (3.75%) Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Certification Pay.
The SJFD is accepting applications for the position of Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Trainee. This is the entry-level training classification for a career in public safety dispatching within the City of San José. As a Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Trainee, you are provided with formal training, both in the classroom and in the Communications Center, to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the full range of public safety dispatching functions. Trainees must successfully complete all formal academic and on-the-job training to be appointed to the class of Public Safety Radio Dispatcher and retain their employment.
Duties of the Public Safety Radio Dispatcher include answering emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, complying with medical and fire call taking and dispatching policies and protocols, obtaining information from callers, providing emergency instructions over the telephone, entering data into the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system, dispatching fire and emergency medical personnel and equipment, providing telecommunications systems support, and performing other related work as assigned.
The Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Trainee Training Program includes Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) and Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) protocol training. The EMD and EFD certification is a condition of employment. If an employee fails to maintain San José Fire Department protocol compliance standards, the employee is subject to discipline up to and including termination.
These positions may require working weekends, holidays and/or assignments including swing, midnight, or other nonstandard shifts. Shifts are currently an 8-hour schedule during training (five days a week). Shift schedules may change based on the needs of the Department, and may include an alternate 9-hour schedule (every other set of days off includes three days off). You must be available to work the shift schedule assigned to you by the Department. There is a shift differential payment of $2.25/hour for swing shift and $2.50/hour for midnight shifts.
Mandatory overtime will be required during critical incidents or to maintain staffing levels.
Wearing a uniform is required.
Incumbents receive paid training beginning on their first day attending the Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Trainee Academy. Employee benefits are provided in accordance with the applicable union agreement.

PERSONAL HISTORY QUESTIONNAIRE (PHQ): The most qualified applicants for Public Safety Dispatcher Trainee will be invited to complete an online pass/fail PHQ screening. The PHQ screening is designed to identify applicants who meet the Fire Department's hiring standards. The PHQ screening will consist of approximately 180 questions. The questionnaire will ask applicants to self-report behavior that has been determined to relate directly to job suitability.
Applicants should be prepared to provide detailed information of their personal history in the following nine categories: education, employment, driving history, military experience, substance use, financial history, legal history, fire, public safety and/or emergency medical experience, and other general information.

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) is seeking a Law Intern to support the Governor's Regulatory Review Council (GRRC) in its core business processes.
