Assures, on a continuing basis, that the operators within their jurisdiction are properly and adequately organized, staffed and equipped; have and conduct an adequate training program, including an acceptable record keeping system; and have facilities and procedures that meet all regulatory requirements. Provides verbal and/or written technical assistance to legal counsel, testifies at court trials and formal hearings, and gives dispositions. B.Certification Reviews manuals and determines the adequacy of operations manuals for compliance with 14 CFR. Makes recommendations to the principal inspector for amendments to previously approved manuals to accomplish the following: correct any conflict with regulatory requirements; eliminate unsafe practices; and/or improve the specificity of instruction. Evaluates operations and facilities throughout the geographical area by periodic on-site inspection and the review of inspector's report and makes recommendations of changes essential or desirable in policies and procedures to the principal inspector. C. Surveillance Monitors all surveillance phases of flight oversight on behalf of the principal instructor including the following: training programs and records; base and station facilities; and enroute operations (including routes, areas, and/or airports). Evaluates trends which may indicate deterioration in the safety of flight operations and then personally, or through assistance of other inspectors, coordinates with the principal inspector, and suggests changes required to correct such trends. Monitors the activities of examiner designees, check airmen, and instructors, and takes any action that may be required due to this monitoring. Advises the SRPM, principal inspector, or manager of any problems and controversial situations and of suggestions to resolve such situations. Conducts a flight oversight system analysis independently or as a team member on special inspection teams. Performs other duties as required. This position will work with a team of other AAOM's and the Airport Operations Supervisor (AOS)/Airport Operations Manager (AOM) to manage the day-to-day operations at Denver International Airport to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public and airport employees. In this position you will work on the airfield to monitor compliance of airport/ federal regulations. You will also assist with other activities, such as TSAR 1542 compliance, emergency management and snow removal operations. In this position you will have the opportunity to learn all about airfield management and airport operations, with additional responsibilities and potential growth. Key Responsibilities will include: * Assist the Airport Operations Supervisor in managing, coordinating, and resolving emergencies, security issues, environmental events, and other unusual conditions impacting operations. * Serve as a co-responder under 34 U.S.C. § 10705 during fire, medical, hazardous material, and other emergencies, working closely with Denver Police, Fire, EMS, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and other agencies. * Respond to aircraft incidents, hazardous spills, structural fires, severe weather, security threats, and mental health crises affecting the traveling public. * Support the Incident Commander during airport emergencies such as aircraft alerts, snow operations, IROPS, and security breaches; may assume Incident Commander responsibilities as delegated. * Inspects runway, taxiway, and ramp areas for changing surface conditions and advises the AOM on those conditions and other events affecting airport operations. Coordinates the issuance of Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) as directed * Creates work orders within the airport work order system to address regulatory compliance with airfield maintenance and repair needs. Monitors and assesses the completeness of work by others to ensure it conforms with acceptable 14 CFR Part 139 standards and requests corrective action if necessary * Assists in the coordination and execution of snow removal activities on all runways, movement and non-movement area taxiways, deice pads, concourse gate areas, aircraft rescue and response roads, emergency response gates, and all airfield vehicle service roads. Utilizes specialized runway friction measuring equipment to track and report runway friction values for rubber removal maintenance program and during snow operations * Keeps current on all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations relating to the position, Airport Security Program and TSA security directives. Who We Are & What You'll Do The Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for the fiscal health of the city. The DOF fulfills the state statutory responsibilities for tax assessment and collection. DOF also manages the City's debt portfolio and investment portfolio. The County Assessor serves as a senior executive within the Department of Finance and a key advisor to the Chief Financial Officer and the Mayor. This position provides strategic leadership the Assessment Division to align with a legal compliance, and public trust. The Assessment Division locates, appraises and records all of Denver's real and personal properties in accordance with the Colorado Constitution, state statutes and Board of Equalization procedures. The Assessor certifies valuations to all special tax districts and tracks values and annual tax increments within the City's tax increment financing (TIF) districts. The division prepares and delivers the tax warrant to the Treasurer, maintains records on tax exemptions for seniors and other populations, generates value notices for all taxpayers and processes written and in-person valuation protests and appeals. Property taxes are a "county function" and are governed by Title 39 Article 1 through Article 12 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. Unlike other counties, the accounting and disbursement functions are assigned to the DoF - Controller's Office.
