The San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District is looking for one student intern expecting to be a student through at least May 2027. Primary duties will be to assist with compiling the County Air Pollution Emissions Inventory. Under the direction of Engineering and Compliance Division staff, tasks will include compiling and evaluating air pollution emissions data, researching emission factors, performing calculations, and quality assurance of emissions databases.
Interns are also commonly asked to assist District staff with a wide variety of other tasks that encompass a range of professional responsibilities including public outreach, field inspections, source test observations, and the evaluation of permit applications.
Compensation and Work Hours: $21 per hour, 32 to 40 hours/week during summer, 8 to 12 hours/week in blocks of at least 4 hours during school year, flexible schedule to accommodate class load considered.
Term: 14 months, with the possibility to extend. The intern is expected to start in March 2026 and work through at least May 2027

Interns working for TIS would participate in providing hotline coverage, individual and group supportive counseling and advocacy services to clients ages 12 and up in our Sexual Assault and ages 5 and up for our Child Witness to Violence Programs. Services are free and confidential and offered to both victims and their non-offending significant others.Referrals typically come from DCF, area police, schools and pediatricians, as well as other medical professionals, with a focus on improving safety and overall functioning following their victimization. In addition to counseling services, interns gain experience in providing brief assessments, case management, safety planning, crisis intervention, and provide information and referrals. This site is a placement for interns who want to increase their skills and knowledge in working with families experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault, and who are interested in working on a team. Interns are supported by licensed supervisors and an experienced clinical team. A 40-rape crisis/domestic violence training is required and will be provided.

Wayside Multi-Service Center (“the Multi”) is a small community-based mental health and prevention center offering a range of clinical and community wellness promotion services to children, adolescents, and families. The Multi is part of Wayside Youth & Family Support Network.
The Multi offers three different internships composed of opportunities in different programs for counseling, case management, and prevention.
Internship experience may include:
1. Clinical case management work with the Watertown Social Service Resource Program (SSRP), answering calls, and meeting with Watertown residents in need of resource navigation for a wide variety of needs, such as housing, food, financial assistance, and mental health referrals.
2. Supporting a federally funded program, Navigating to Emotional Wellness, focused on supporting youth with experiences of trauma. Work includes brief intervention with youth and their families, support groups, parenting support, and referrals for long-term support and counseling.
3. School counseling for Watertown youth through the Student Assistance Program. Interns work with middle school youth who need individual counseling and crisis intervention.
4. Supporting a state-funded program, Community Innovations, focused on substance-use prevention and harm reduction through diversion groups held at local Middle and High Schools and Boys & Girls Club.
5. Peer Leadership program with Watertown High School students as part of Watertown Youth Coalition's work. This work represents Wayside's mission of prevention and early intervention by offering enrichment opportunities that increase emotional resiliency and decrease risk factors such as substance misuse.
6. Planning and implementation of weekly after-school program at the local learning centers for youth ages 6 to 16 living in Watertown Public Housing.
7. Supporting Belmont Wellness Coalition, a prevention-centered group, who are focused on reducing substance misuse and addressing its many risk factors, e.g., mental health, overwhelming stress, etc. Opportunity to work with Belmont High School's youth group, BWC's monthly parent group, and on community-wide prevention initiatives.
This site offers interns excellent experience working in a variety of capacities with a committed group of staff.
