As an HVAC Service Project's Installation Technician, you will work with our mechanical projects team to complete commercial mechanical equipment change out, retrofit and installation projects. Typical projects include installation, replacements and retrofits of HVAC equipment, sheet metal / ductwork, piping and other related materials and systems. Ability to travel out of town, as needed
Compensation
Wage Range Starting at: $25.00+/per hour based on qualifications & experience
Job Duties
Retrofit and installation of commercial HVAC equipment including RTU'S, split systems, VRF & VRV, WSHP'S, Air cooled & water-cooled chillers ranging up to 300 tons
Repair and / or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
Installation of other HVAC systems including duct and electrical wiring
Installation of refrigerant piping
Installation of threaded gas piping
Installation of low voltage wiring and basic controls
Ability to Braze & soft solder copper pipe for water and refrigeration piping systems
Field fabrication of duct as required by the project
Complete required electronic reports and documentation daily on a handheld device
Requirements
3 or more years of experience with commercial HVAC equipment retrofit and installation projects
EPA Universal certification
OSHA 10 certification (the company will provide if needed)
Experience with water-cooled and chilled water systems
Experience with high and low voltage wiring of commercial HVAC equipment
Additional Requirements

Must be able to work independently with or without supervision - as well as collaboratively as part of a team to complete tasks within designated timeframes
Ability to pass a full background screening, MVR, and drug screening

Provides mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems. Coaches, supports and trains the technical workforce on non-complex, non-critical equipment.

Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.

Assists in the design and configuration of building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.

This HVAC Service Technician role is ideal for a skilled, licensed pro who thrives on solving complex mechanical issues. You'll work independently on a wide range of systems-RTUs, chillers, boilers, and more-while growing your career with a top-tier, safety-focused team at RK.

Role Responsibilities
HVAC mechanical equipment.
Diagnoses and repairs.
Equipment start ups.
Quality control inspections on RK Service work.
Technical trouble shooting and diagnostics.
Inspections.
Qualifications
Indirect Supervision.
Hold and retain relevant H/CFC universal license.
Experience with RTU's, Boilers, MAU's, AHU's, Fans, Pumps, Cooling Towers, VAV/FPB's. Automation Systems, Chillers.
Understanding of Hydronic systems and DX cooling circuits and components.
Minimum Physical Requirements and Accountability
Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
