At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. Position Summary
This position is a key member of the accounting team and the finance group as a whole. The Director - Financial Reporting & Accounting provides oversight and management of internal and external reporting, analyzes and implements new accounting policies and standards as required, monitors and updates existing accounting policies as the Company's business changes, and oversees accounting operations functions.

Administers and supervises the annual and quarterly preparation process conducted by other accounting personnel.
Supports the finance team in the review of footnote documentation and MD&A information.
Performs a detailed review of the quarterly call report and Federal Reserve reports.
Supports the finance team in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for management, the audit committee and the board of directors.
Addresses inquiries from internal and external auditors, providing documentation that supports their needs.
Plans, organizes and coordinates all activities of the general accounting function for the Corporation to ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting entries.
Administers and supervises the month-end close process.
Is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and adequacy of internal control documentation required for enterprise risk management.
Maintains a process to ensure that all balance sheet and internal DDA accounts are reconciled on a periodic basis.
Is responsible for completing annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment assessments.
Stays current with new accounting and financial reporting guidance issued by the FASB, SEC and IASB when applicable.

The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically to locations within market as needed.

Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
10+ years of experience with a financial services, multi-company organization.
CPA preferred.
Over seven years of significant bank accounting experience, including SEC reporting/public company experience.
Working knowledge of GAAP accounting issues as they relate to the banking industry.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to instruct others, interpret documents, and write reports and correspondence.

The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) is seeking an experienced finance leader to join the senior leadership of the Secretariat as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Primarily focused on maintaining the budgets and all external and internal financial reporting requirements for EOLWD and its nine reporting departments and divisions, a strong CFO candidate will have experience in finance and administrative management in government and ready to manage a growing team.
The CFO provides procedural, policy, and administrative direction for Budget and Federal Grants Management, Contracts and Procurement, Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting, Treasury Operations, Accounting, and Finance Systems. Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor the verification FPIF investment managers' compliance with financial reporting mandates and conformity with FPIF financial reporting requirements to ensure that the valuation of the investment portfolio is performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Responsible for staffing the Audit Committee meetings and coordinating the participation of relevant staff. Supervise the preparation of all Audit Committee materials and agendas to be submitted at meetings.
Participate in the development and implementation of policies and control procedures to provide full accountability over all assets and internal administrative and operations.
Serve as a point of contact regarding the status of initiatives and strategic goals on investment financial issues with the Custodian Bank, external auditors, internal audit firm, and various investment and government entities to respond to inquiries and provide substantiations regarding submitted financial information requests.
Oversee preparation of budget submitted on an annual basis including requests for supplemental information.
Responsible for oversight of financial management, coordination of custodian bank accounting reporting and monitors these components performance to ensure policy and procedure development is consistent with Agency objectives.
Advise the ED and the COO regarding technology needs and goals for FPIF.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. CPA or applicable advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of six years professional experience in developing policy in financial matters and/or directing a complex investment accounting system, experience in investment, public or private accounting, auditing or financial field.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of computer networks and various applications such as Microsoft Office 365.
Knowledge of investment policy matters and proven ability to communicate effectively.
