Business plans and goals are specific, measurable and actionable and for the purposes of monitoring progress.
Supervise, Develop and Motivate Divisional Sales Force

Take a top-down approach to uncovering opportunities for AMs at partner firms and seek to remove obstacles to success.
Field travel with each AM is a key component of both AM development and supervision:
Each DSM is a Series 24 Registered Principal and assumes ongoing supervisory responsibility for Field AMs.
DSMs will travel with Field AMs 2-4 times per year for 1-2 days at a time. This travel allows for coaching, training and ensures consistency of message while satisfying supervisory requirements.
Travel further ensures that the DSM is a conduit to sharing feedback across GWM key stakeholders and has a first-hand understanding of clients/needs and concerns as they evolve.
The DSM must also conduct AC home office reviews to ensure compliance standards.
Create and implement internal training and best practices within the division.
Maintain weekly contact via phone, email and conference calls with Field AMs.
Conduct annual divisional meetings to train and educate Field AMs.
Perform annual written reviews and quarterly updates with Field AMs that evaluate performance objectives and core competencies.
Record and file details of ongoing issues, problems or concerns with each Field AM within their division.
Recruit, develop and retain talented professionals within their divisions.
Manage the Division's Relationships with Key Stakeholders
Each DSM serves as the central point of communication between the GWM leadership team, , Marketing, Product Strategy Group (PSG), Strategic Accounts, Defined Contributions, and Growth Market Teams - Alternatives, ETFs, Models and SMAs. Importantly, each DSM is responsible for balancing the needs of key stakeholders when aligning resources in the field, particularly as it pertains to driving business KPI's, sales campaigns, roadshows, PM/PSG travel and cross-channel partnerships.
Build Relationships with Partner Firms
DSMs are responsible for partnering with National, Independent, Bank and Regional Broker-Dealers (BDs) to represent the PIMCO sales Strategy. DSM's partner with our Strategic Accounts team to represent our sales strategy with our key partner firms. Each DSM has 3-5 partner firm relationships and acts in a “Head of Sales“ capacity seeking to best align PIMCO resources with the specific needs of each partner firm.

Provide operational support for firm-wide FX trading strategies
Become an expert in all currency-related legal guidelines and take proper action daily to stay within the limits.
Attend PIMCO account opening, closing, and transition meetings as an advisor on proper currency management
Perform Risk Management on a daily basis in regards to currency hedging and rebalances
Become an expert in all G10 and EM conventions and mechanics from trade to settlement for spot, forward and OTC options
Work with Technology to keep processes accurate and up-to-date, mitigate risk, and enhance applications as needed
Respond to ad hoc requests from the Portfolio Management team
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or mathematics from a leading university
2-4 years of relevant professional experience
Outstanding communication skills are required to operate in a complex financial environment
Prior experience in Foreign Currency trade support or operations role/capacity preferred
Excel “power user” - SQL, VBA, and Python skills are preferred
Strong process-oriented background and ability to demonstrate keen portfolio risk and operational awareness
Outstanding analytical skills with a proven ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a fast paced and time-critical environment

JOB DESCRIPTION
PIMCO is seeking a portfolio manager for its Newport Beach based Global and EM teams. The individual will be responsible for developing and managing options driven macro and relative value strategies in foreign exchange across developed and emerging markets that are intended to be used as alpha overlays and risk management of underlying portfolios. The candidate must show an aptitude for conceptualizing transactions, demonstrating the impact of trades and trade strategy, and communicating with portfolio managers and senior management. This candidate will also assist with trade execution and will be expected to manage and build strong working relationships with sell-side FX option market-makers on behalf of PIMCO.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Combine market knowledge with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to generate trade ideas in FX options across DM and EM.
Primary focus will be on FX options, with the opportunity to develop into a broader focus across multiple asset classes within global fixed income and foreign exchange.
Responsible for FX options execution across DM and EM across all PIMCO funds and client portfolios.
Prepare materials and presentations related to trade activity and market conditions, and write regular market commentary
Providing market color and insight to other portfolio managers
Apply broad range of skills to ad hoc requests within the broad portfolio management context, assisting across functional areas
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution demonstrating strong academic credentials
Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in foreign exchange and global fixed income at a prominent buy-side or sell-side institution
Direct experience in trading and managing options, with a deep understanding of market structure, pricing, and modeling
Strong quantitative experience with developing, modifying, and using empirical investment models to analyze, compare, and contrast a diversity of market data and economic variables
A commonsensical approach to investing
Strong theoretical and applied knowledge of option Greeks
Highly quantitative approach to developing trade ideas
Proficiency in at least one computer language or experience of collaborating with quants on quantitative models for pricing or other analysis
