Works with department Director and hospital Medical Directors to escalate identified medical staff documentation issues, trends and medical staff compliance issues as needed. Acts as adhoc coverage for CDI staff at other UC Health hospitals, as needed. Provides ongoing educational updates to physicians on documentation and revenue cycle rules and regulations. Enters information into appropriate databases as required to be used for statistical and performance improvement reporting purposes. Works with hospital HIM Coding staff to ensure documentation clarifications have been reviewed and coded appropriately as part of the revenue cycle process. Assists with the orientation, coaching and mentoring of new CDI associates, as needed. In partnership with nephrologists, surgeons, and key internal and external stakeholders, the manager strengthens referral pathways, supports National Kidney Registry (NKR) activities, and promotes evidence-based clinical practice. As both clinical and administrative leader, the manager is responsible for staffing, scheduling, performance management, and the professional development of the care team. The role leverages data-driven tools such as Epic, Laudio, and BI Launchpad to monitor productivity, optimize operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. Leadership, Communication, and Program Oversight - 20% * Leads and supervises approximately 19-20 direct reports across pre-transplant, post-transplant, and living donor teams. * Serves as a liaison among patients, families, providers, surgeons, social workers, financial coordinators, and other key stakeholders. * Conducts regular team huddles and meetings to communicate updates, set goals, and address workflow and performance issues. * Collaborates with medical and administrative leadership to uphold high standards of clinical care, service quality, and patient experience. * Manages patient concerns and ensures timely, transparent resolution and service recovery. * Builds and maintains relationships with referring providers, and dialysis centers to strengthen referral pathways and continuity of care. * Recognizes staff achievements and promotes ongoing professional development and certification (CCTC/CCTN). * Represents the transplant programs in multidisciplinary, operational, and quality meetings including selection, living donor, Epic, QAPI, and administrative forums.
