Eng) Program Director, the M. Eng Graduate Advisor is responsible for providing a number of student services supporting the M. Eng Program and its students. The position advises prospective students about academic preparation, appropriateness of program relative to student goals, and program, school and university policies. Implements outreach initiatives with targeted institutions and organizations. Provides support to the program with faculty/instructor related request work, student financial aid options, organization policy and procedure information. Coordinates student orientations, onboarding, and general campus resource guidance. Maintenance and updates Grad Database, website, and social media; creation; creation, maintenance, and distribution of program marketing material and/or communications. Develops, coordinates, and implements student events and supports the unit with a number of other duties. Provides advice and assistance to students on degree progress and major requirements as well as an alternative academic options and scheduling maters. Solid verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make group presentations to convey information on a variety of topics. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and diplomatically with applicants and various stakeholders. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Knowledge of complex U. S. visa and immigration procedures, compliance issues, and employment eligibility / authorization for international students and scholars. Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
