POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides pharmaceutical care in the retail, outpatient setting. 3. Provides counseling to patients, families, or caregivers regarding their medications, to support appropriate and effective drug use. The SPCU clinicalpharmacist will provide pharmaceutical care for surgical patients, including neurosurgery, surgical/trauma, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and others who require intermediate level of care support. The SPCU clinicalpharmacist is responsible for coordinating comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including rounding/collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring appropriate medication therapy, providing education for patients, patient caregivers, and healthcare providers, and collaborating with provider teams to develop, implement, and evaluate medication management quality improvement efforts. In addition, the SPCU clinicalpharmacist will serve as a preceptor for the University of Colorado Skaggs School Of Pharmacy.
