Department: UCHlth LifeLine Fixed Wing FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Flex Pay: $24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Provides direct patient care during air and ground critical care transport.
Responsibilities:
Provides patient care during all phases of the transport from initial contact until care is relinquished to appropriate team member at the accepting medical facility.
Documents patient assessment, evaluation, interventions, patient response to therapy, changes in condition, and procedures within the established timeframe. Participates in Pre and Post Transport briefings. Provides patient follow up to referral agencies.
Ensures equipment is in working order, noting any discrepancies and ensuring steps toward resolution. Completes all required vehicle and equipment checklists.
Collaborates across disciplines to drive success and improve outcomes. Provides safety and clinical education to referring facilities and EMS agencies as needed. Active participant in safety, education, quality, and outreach.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
+ Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
Required Licensure/Certification: National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and Colorado EMT-P certification at hire. Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C). Valid driver's license. Tracked by the department: Other state licenses as required for service area within six (6) months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and any one of the following: Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC), PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) or ITLS (International Trauma Life Support).
Minimum Experience: 5 years paramedic experience.
Preferred: 5 years of experience in a high call volume 911 ambulance service, field training officer experience, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, previous flight/CCT experience, CEVO/EVOC training, Instructor certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TPATC or PHTLS or ITLS).
+ BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
