Ulbrich Shaped Wire Inc. is located in North Haven, CT has an exciting opportunity for a Production/Materials Planner.
Under the general direction of the Materials Planning Manager, performs diversified duties related to the daily planning and scheduling of equipment, and personnel as well as the issuance of materials from inventory to production in a manner that capitalizes upon equipment and operational capacities and meets customer specifications and delivery terms.
Specific areas of required expertise include:
Plans and schedules material and operational flow in accordance with established methods and standards, optimizing equipment and personnel utilization and minimizing machine set up changes and down time.

Perform a variety of duties to assist the Rolling Mill Operator or the Slitter Operator in the setup, operation, and break down of a rolling mill or slitting equipment. Job Description
Ulbrich is seeking a Product Manager who is looking for an exciting opportunity with an industry leader in the metals field. In conjunction with company objectives and annual budgetary targets, the Product Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of effective product sales strategies to expand product applications, sales and customer base. Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Proactively work and interact with inside sales, territory managers, sales management, manufacturing and general management to build effective communication linkages.
* Participate in product training sessions, regional sales meetings, new product development, and other company operational meetings as required.
* Assist/Advise on the forecast process improvement and technology integration.
* Participate in setting sales forecasts and associated budgets.
* Work with management to effectively coordinate raw material sourcing, pricing, pricing resets, price gaps, and price page modifications based on post cost data and inventory requirements.

* Utilizing the most current technology (i.e., Power BI) to research, identify, and analyze business trends in sales, marketing, and profitability opportunities.
* Partner with Marketing in pursuit of new opportunities.
* Identify new application opportunities within, or outside of, current capabilities and determine the viability of the opportunity through a commercial filtering process with a focus on strategy and profitability.
* An understanding of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for the organization and how it impacts the relationship with the customer and the sale.
* Partner with sales to create, manage and strengthen customer relationships to drive objectives including targeted blue sheet opportunities.
* Initiate appropriate steps to resolve technical, quality, delivery, credit or other issues related to customer satisfaction.
* Participate at Trade Shows as assigned and develop appropriate follow-up techniques for contacts and inquiries resulting from Trade Shows.
* Keep abreast of current industry and market conditions, buying trends and competitors, and effectively recommend and take advantage of sales and marketing opportunities. Conduct market research on any and all new applications to support either the addition of any capital equipment, define potential and costs, and to expand our opportunity for business in the marketplace.

Qualifications

We are currently seeking a
Process Metallurgist
to become part of our Ulbrich Specialty Strip Mill located in Wallingford, CT. The Associate Process Metallurgist will assist with supporting sales, production, and other organizational units in the determination of the organization's capacity to produce products that achieve defined customer requirements. Consult with sales, operations and customers to review desired product specifications and/or production problems and provide related recommendations.
Assist with providing metallurgical and technical expertise in the application of material and processing procedures required to achieve defined customer specifications or in the resolution of product related problems.
Work in collaboration with sales, lab, and layout functions in the preparation of bid proposals. Provide technical guidance in the areas of materials, procedures, quality, and economy and in the determination of Ulbrich's ability to achieve customer's desired product requirement.
Assist with developing detailed product order requirements in support of defined specifications.
Review and establish material processing and recommend appropriate and cost-effective procedures for order processing.
Assist in the selection of raw materials giving consideration to the physical and chemical properties required to achieve end result.
Assist with the design production practices and procedures to meet special customer requirements.
Monitor production capacity, processing and other factors that may affect delivery.
Qualifications

Ulbrich's manufacturing divisions in North Haven and Wallingford, CT have immediate openings for skilled individuals in our slitting, annealing, rolling mill and shaped wire operations. In these positions you will assist in the set-up and operation of heavy, sophisticated equipment.
Qualifications
Turkshead Operator
Primary duties include setting up and operating shaped wire equipment, Turkshead machines. Required to produce various sizes, shapes, gauges and complex dimensions as well as round and special shapes. Responsibilities include the quality of the product on all operations handled, following applicable ISO procedures, operator preventative maintenance, maintaining equipment and work area to the required safety and operational standards at Ulbrich Shaped Wire. Regular use of a forklift, hand truck, and overhead cranes. Participate in various team activities. Must be able to read a micrometer and other measuring tools in addition to being able to complete math calculations. Considerable physical effort is required.
Wire Mill Operator

Mental and visual attention required in checking for variations and defects on the materials. Use of decimals and fractions required. Moderate physical demand, must demonstrate safe work practices. Must be available to work any shift.
Utility Helper
Perform a variety of duties to assist the Rolling Mill Operator or the Slitter Operator in the setup, operation, and break down of a rolling mill or slitting equipment. Follow defined Quality operational instructions, to ensure materials are processed in a manner that will meet or exceed customer expectations. Position requires the performance of duties within very close proximity to moving cutting equipment and requires extreme caution and strict adherence to related safety standards. Ability to use electric shears to cut strip, hoists, micrometers and other measuring instruments. Mental and visual attention required in checking for variations and defects on the materials. Staff Accountant
to perform diversified, advanced accounting functions in connection with the preparation and reconciliation of company financial records and the performance of account analysis. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring the implementation, interpretation, and application of established company accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements for principle business;

Perform daily review to ensure accuracy;

Perform calculation and payment of business taxes in accordance with established schedule;
Generate 1099 forms for suppliers as required;
Perform detailed audit and analysis of expense reports and payment records;

Qualifications

Ulbrich Stainless Steel and Special Metals, Inc. is looking for a Staff Accountant to perform diversified, advanced accounting functions in connection with the preparation and reconciliation of company financial records and the performance of account analysis. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring the implementation, interpretation, and application of established company accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(The essential duties and responsibilities listed below are not all encompassing. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned consistent with business requirements.)
* Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements for principle business;
* Conduct detailed review of Accounting / GL / Financial reporting for USSM (Ulbrich Stainless Steel and Special Metals, Inc.);
* Verify business transactions and post journal entries to general ledger accounts. Perform monthly journal entry account analysis;
* Perform daily review to ensure accuracy;
* Reconcile internal weekly payroll tax withholding records with external tax preparation service records, property tax filings sales and tax reporting, Federal and State Income Tax work - including apportionment schedules;
* Perform calculation and payment of business taxes in accordance with established schedule;
* Generate 1099 forms for suppliers as required;
* Perform detailed audit and analysis of expense reports and payment records;
* Accounting /GL/ Financial reporting for UNE;
* Budget Preparation;
* Reconciliations;
* Fixed Asset Reporting (manage approval process, f/a reporting, project cost
* schedules) and;
* Special Projects - full range of activity
Qualifications
* BS degree in Accounting or Finance plus a minimum of 1 year related corporate financial experience.
* Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information and data skillfully and reach sound conclusions.
* Demonstrated understanding of the business implication of decisions.
* Must possess at minimum Intermediate MS Excel skills.
* Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.

Product Manager
who is looking for an exciting opportunity with an industry leader in the metals field. In conjunction with company objectives and annual budgetary targets, the Product Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of effective product sales strategies to expand product applications, sales and customer base. Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Proactively work and interact with inside sales, territory managers, sales management, manufacturing and general management to build effective communication linkages.
Participate in product training sessions, regional sales meetings, new product development, and other company operational meetings as required.
Assist/Advise on the forecast process improvement and technology integration.
Participate in setting sales forecasts and associated budgets.
Work with management to effectively coordinate raw material sourcing, pricing, pricing resets, price gaps, and price page modifications based on post cost data and inventory requirements.
Manage inventory control, forecasting of stock levels, JIT programs, layout routings, and consignments.
Align pricing strategies and contracts with corporate goals and objectives.
Facilitate relationship development, lead projects, and communications with key accounts for market/targeted application growth.
Mentor, train, and advise Sales group on pricing strategies and standard work procedures.
Participate and coach A3 teams on lean principles, process improvements, and efficiencies to meet company goals and objectives.
Perform cost analysis on quotations, order entry, pre-costs, and where relevant, post-costs, direct changes where necessary to meet gross margin and profit objectives.
Utilizing the most current technology (i.e., Power BI) to research, identify, and analyze business trends in sales, marketing, and profitability opportunities.
Partner with Marketing in pursuit of new opportunities.
Identify new application opportunities within, or outside of, current capabilities and determine the viability of the opportunity through a commercial filtering process with a focus on strategy and profitability.
An understanding of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for the organization and how it impacts the relationship with the customer and the sale.
Partner with sales to create, manage and strengthen customer relationships to drive objectives including targeted blue sheet opportunities.
Initiate appropriate steps to resolve technical, quality, delivery, credit or other issues related to customer satisfaction.
Participate at Trade Shows as assigned and develop appropriate follow-up techniques for contacts and inquiries resulting from Trade Shows.
Keep abreast of current industry and market conditions, buying trends and competitors, and effectively recommend and take advantage of sales and marketing opportunities. Conduct market research on any and all new applications to support either the addition of any capital equipment, define potential and costs, and to expand our opportunity for business in the marketplace.
Follow the product development process on all new product orders, acting as liaison between manufacturing and the customer.
Analyze products, end uses, and manufacturing methods, including customer manufacturing methods.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Material Sciences, or Business is preferred, plus a minimum of 5 years of industry experience; a strong understanding of competitive and SWOT analysis techniques; strong understanding of metals/foils industry capabilities and applications; demonstrated project leadership skills from concept through implementation supporting cross-functional business needs; the ability and willingness to make ethical, business decisions within the scope of knowledge with the ability to be persuasive; energetic, focused, with sense of urgency; proven versatility in strategic and tactical business planning; a self-starter and independent decision maker; effective communication skills - verbal, written, presentation; intermediate skills with MS Office, Excel and marketing databases; strong customer service skills; a strong technical aptitude; a solid background with product development from inception to completion is required. Travel as required.

International Inside Sales Specialist
. This position is responsible for servicing and expanding international accounts in the German and French language. This includes quoting, customer development, and the sale of our diverse and technical product line to meet customer requirements; responding to International inbound sales calls concerning all company products, processing services, pricing and delivery options; and making International outbound sales calls for the purpose of prospecting, expanding the customer base, and for marketing of additional products/product applications or services to existing customers.
Qualifications
