For the first time since Ultra Music Festival's inception (in 1999), the festival captured the city of Miami for two weekends, ensuring the deprivation of sleep for many Miami residents, but also providing a form of entertainment unrivaled around much of the world.
After passing on an opportunity to work with a big festival in New York, he graduated with his Juris Doctor degree and went to work for a dot-com company in Miami. It was not until 2005 that Russakoff met Russell Faibisch and became Faibisch's partner at UMF Worldwide.
In 2013, Ultra Music Festival set a new attendance record with roughly 330,000 people from more than 80 countries gathering to celebrate the festival's 15 year anniversary and listen to the music they crave.
In 2018, the ULTRA WORLDWIDE™ brand announced its acquisition of Miami’s Winter Music Conference, through one of its affiliates, fully aligning the city’s bustling community of music lovers and industry insiders for ULTRA’s Miami Music Week which is anchored by Ultra Music Festival.
The internationally-renowned festival, which has taken place every March since its inception, celebrated its 21st anniversary on March 29-31, 2019 by bringing more than 170,000 music enthusiasts to the sold-out waterfront event in Miami.
Ultra Music Festival®, which was voted the world’s #1 music festival by DJ Mag multiple times, will make its triumphant return to its long-time home at Bayfront Park for its 22nd annual edition on March 20-22, 2019.
