Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced UltraCare Liaison (UCL) that will represent Ultragenyx in Rare Disease. Ultragenyx is preparing for the potential commercialization of a potential breakthrough rare disease monoclonal antibody therapy for the treatment of Osteogenesis Imperfecta. We are seeking driven individuals with the desire to run their own business within a specified geography. These individuals will have strong business acumen, be able to drive change through innovative approaches, demonstrate excellent communication skills and consistently deliver sales results.

Work Model:
Field: Officially documented as working as a member of the Ultragenyx field team, generally interacting with third parties on behalf of Ultragenyx.
Responsibilities:
Serve as territory business owner with a focus upon impact and territory analysis. Other key areas of focus include optimizing: i) patient diagnosis and care through HCP education, ii) educating HCPs about Ultragenyx approved products post launch , iii) assisting with treatment fulfillment post launch
Ability to develop and nurture effective business relationship management with key stakeholders, including HCPs, Registered Dieticians, Pharmacists, RNs/NPs/Pas and related support staff
Proactively builds effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders; can drive agreement/decisions from multiple stakeholders; ability to understand people's emotions and flex communication style. Can adjust their approach based on different stakeholder needs, concerns, or audience member to drive alignment and meet their work goals.
Develop and maintain a strategic territory business plan focused on key academic centers, community targets within priority specialties, territory opportunities and challenges.
Determine and implement suitable travel schedule and call plan on a daily/weekly basis to ensure both adequate and highly effective coverage for all key accounts.
Execute programs, high impact in-services, and other educational opportunities for their territory.
Timely completion of compliance trainings, internal product & disease state trainings, Veeva administration, monthly expense reports, and all other administration expectations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required
8 years with 5+ years being in the healthcare/biotech industry, inclusive of 3 years of field-based experience in account management, sales, and/or field reimbursement. Rare disease experience is preferred.
Experience launching biopharma/pharma products successfully is preferred
Documented track record of field sales success
Strategic business acumen and cross-functional and collaborative leadership with internal stakeholders including; marketing, medical, clinical operations, and patient services.
Demonstrated experience effectively presenting clinical/scientific information required
Approximately 50 - 60% (dependent on geography) travel is required; overnight travel is required as needed
Must live in territory geography. Territory includes: Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Territory subject to change based on business need

Requirements:
MD required
Minimum of 12 years in a senior/advanced PV Science role within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, with at least 5 years in supervisory capacity
Rare disease experience in all phases of biologic, small molecule, mRNA and gene therapy drug development preferred including IND/CTA, NDA/BLA/MAA experience with success interacting with Regulatory authorities, Advisory Committees, or other scientific advice forums
Strong people management skills, willingness to develop team and help others succeed
Extensive working knowledge of global PV/safety regulatory environment including ICH, international regulations, guidelines, standards of Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP) including best practices and implementation

1. Prepare, gross (exam with the naked eye), and dissect surgical and autopsy specimens.
2. Assist with forensic, medicolegal, and hospital autopsies.

5. Complete surgical pathology protocol reports and data, file reports, photographic and microscopic slides, specimen coding and billing code entry.
6. Perform proper maintenance of equipment, obtain provision of adequate supplies, clean the surgical pathology suite.
7. Instruct pathology residents/fellows, pathologists' assistant students, and other pathology lab personnel.
8. Participate in research.
9. Procure samples for biospecimen banking.
Physical Requirements:
1. Work requires standing or walking for up to half of the day and lifting or pushing of weights up to 200 pounds.
2. Frequent exposure to human waste, and noxious gases and odors.

The GMP Facilities Tech II performs preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of complex utility systems within Ultragenyx GMP QC laboratory and manufacturing facilities. Equipment/systems include but is not limited to HVAC systems, cold storage, compressed air and gas systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Water for Injection (WFI) systems, wastewater treatment, clean steam generation, fire detection/suppression, boilers, pumps/motors, etc. The Facilities Tech II will also perform corrective and preventive maintenance on GMP lab instruments and process equipment such as bioreactors, filling machines, centrifuges, rockers, chromatography columns, autoclaves, and glass washers. With minimal oversight, the Facilities Tech II must be able to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications to effectively perform troubleshooting and repair activities.

Responsibilities:
1. Perform and document all corrective and preventative maintenance activities performed on GMP facility equipment and/or systems in accordance with GDP requirements.
2. Ensure GMP compliance with all facilities related activities including corrective and preventative maintenance.
3. Troubleshoot complex electrical and controls issues on all building systems and equipment.
4. Maintain all facility equipment and systems at optimum levels of performance, efficiency, and reliability.
5. Ensure that all facilities and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with current internal and external requirements for safety, quality, regulatory environmental, and compliance standards.

Mentor lead statisticians/epidemiologists in presenting the statistical concepts, evidence, interpretations, and logical arguments to the project team and senior management
Independently pursue analyses suggested by the data; Propose new/novel statistical methodological approaches leading to improvements in the efficiency and sensitivity of study results
Contribute to the advancement of research in clinical trials methodology. Establish a healthy culture in the department, including collaboration and quality mindset
Develop and evaluate options for meeting project team goals under time and budgetary constraints and can change course quickly
Requirements:
Ph.D. in Applied Statistics, Statistics, or Biostatistics
20+ years of experience applying statistics and epidemiology methods in a biopharmaceutical industry
Demonstrated statistical knowledge with the ability to apply this to scientific and clinical problems with experience in computational simulation, analysis of biomarkers, analysis of clinical imaging results such as X-Ray
Experience in designs and Bayesian data analyses, rare disease global clinical development and applying epidemiological methodology to support delivering rare disease therapies for patients
Has influenced external environment through contributions to presentations, and publications with demonstrated scientific productivity in advancing the state-of-the-art in applied statistical and epidemiological methodologies
Experience in management, collaboration, and communication to managers, colleagues, team members, CROs, external statistical / medical experts, and external collaborators
Experience with regulatory guidance and guidelines, and general knowledge of industry best practices. Expert knowledge in Health Authority interactions and submission strategies, IND/BLA/NDA/MAA submissions, and writing technical and management documents

The typical annual salary range for this full-time position is listed below. This range reflects the characteristics of the job, such as required skills and qualifications and is based on the office location noted in this job posting. The range may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible for annual bonus and equity incentives. Actual individual pay is determined by demonstrated experience and internal equity alignment.
Pay Range$371,300-$458,600 USD
