At InvenSense he’s leading a multi-disciplinary system team for the next generation ultrasonic fingerprint sensor bringup, characterization and calibration, coordinating the works from different field including acoustic, MEMS, CMOS, FW, and SW. He also designed the core analog blocks in the product.Dr. Tang is the recipient of 2016 ISSCC Best Paper Award (Lewis Winner Award for Outstanding Paper), 2015 SSCS Pre-Doctoral Award and 2015 ADI Outstanding Student Designer Award.

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley majoring in MEMS and NANO with minors in IC Devices and Dynamics. I have been working on design, analysis, modeling, fabrication, and characterization, of Micro-Electro Mechanical sensors and actuators, including MEMS Resonator Gyroscopes and Piezoelectric Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers (pMUT) as part of my Ph.D. research.

I have been working in Marvell Nanofabrication Lab since 2012 for process design and microfabrication of various MEMS transducers as part of my PhD.

My main focus in the recent years has been on theoretical modeling, FEA simulation, design, and fabrication of high efficiency CMOS-compatible pMUTs for implementation in low-power handheld/wearable ultrasound devices for various applications such as motions sensing, health monitoring, and therapy.
