Responsibilities

Qualifications
Requires national certification in the area of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International. For new graduates, certification must be completed within 12 months of hire. BLS certification required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 1-2 years of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems. Foundation Health Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as an Ultrasound Technologist in the specialty area is preferred.

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Lead Ultrasound Technologist, you will be part of our friendly and compassionate Ultrasound team. We are proud to provide the "care like family" mission of the hospital. In this role:
* You will manage and coordinate all daily operations including patient exams, personnel schedules, and physician services within the Ultrasound department.
* You will provide technical leadership within the department and therefore requires extensive ultrasound knowledge and skills.
* You will be responsible for managing staff, resources and departmental goals and objectives.
* You will be able to independently direct workflow, facilitate employee, patient or physician complaints / concerns and uses sound professional judgment to recommend action related to such matters.
* You will actively participate with interviewing and hiring and is responsible for training and evaluating employees of the ultrasound department.
* You will be responsible for keeping up with current technological advancements in order to recommend and /or implement new protocols.
* You will rotate shifts and take call as needed.
* You will perform all assigned duties by the Assistant Director or Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
What qualifications you will need:
* Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Vocational School Graduate, or Vocational School Graduate
* Three (3) years' Ultrasound experience in a hospital environment preferred.
* ARDMS
* Vascular RVT registered
* Completion of a training program from an accredited school of Ultrasound.
* Breast experience preferred
* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
