The Senior Ultrasound Tech supports patient care by performing ultrasound procedures as directed by the physician. They demonstrate proficiency with the use of ultrasound equipment and associated procedures. * Schedules and performs ultrasound procedures by performing proper diagnostic scan recognition; maintains quality assurance/improvement standards of ultrasound procedures.

Position SummaryThe Ultrasound Services Technologist is an advanced allied health professional with demonstrated skills and competency in all required General and Vascular Ultrasound procedures provided in the hospital.
The Technologist supervises work area activities, assumes responsibility for technical staff, and maintains standards of quality; supervises all technical aspects of the work area; is responsible for the day-to-day operations of that area and for making work assignments to accommodate work requirements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job· Ability to perform all aspects of Ultrasound imaging.
· Ability to communicate pertinent patient information to the radiologist.
· Ability to evaluate the demands of physicians, patients, staff and superiors.
· Ability to effectively identify and implement performance improvement techniques.
· Ability to deliver quality customer service.

Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of an approved program in Ultrasound Technology or licensed RT(R) who has received on the job training and must be ARDMS registered.
Knowledge in Abdomen, Small parts, Breast and OB (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester)/GYN, and Vascular imaging.
A valid ‘Hands-On' CPR certification.
Physical Demands
This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking.

Business Casual or scrubs dependent on department
