As a PRN Ultrasound Technologist, you are responsible for performing diagnostic images for medical interpretation through use of multi-frequency sound waves. They will identify normal and abnormal imaging results, communicating a summary of the results to physicians or other health professionals. The Radiology / Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing all diagnostic radiographic procedures to include Mammography, Stereotactic Biopsy and Bone Densitometry. Must have knowledge of procedures, protocols and equipment used in obtaining radiographic images. Technical skills must include computer knowledge. Ability to work extended periods standing. Reports and communicates to Supervisor and/or Director of OP Imaging. Trained for and skilled to perform exams on patients of all ages. Able to assist patients on and off stretchers and wheelchairs. PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Breast Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required (e.g., RDMS, RVT). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of one (1) year of clinical breast ultrasound experience. Proficient in performing a variety of ultrasound exams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
