The Lead Technologist will be responsible for assisting the Center Manager with the overall leadership and direction of the breast center, while ensuring high image quality and successful completion of exams. Sonography, or ultrasonography, is the use of sound waves to generate an image for assessment and diagnosis. (This is a full-time position supporting the Cardiology team at SouthPark, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm. There is an option for 4-10 hour days or 5-8 hour days) Primary Job Responsibilities/Tasks may include, but not limited to: Reviews patient's medical history and physician's instructions. Prepares equipment for procedure. Selects appropriate equipment settings. Obtains prior authorizations on scans as needed. Administers IV contrast agents. Explains procedure to patient and records any medical history that may be relevant to the condition being viewed. Directs the patient to move into positions that will provide the best view.
