The Ultrasound Technologist performs all ordered Duplex Ultrasound scans and assists the physician or provider in performing procedures for patients suffering from chronic venous insufficiency. SIGN-ON BONUS: $1,000 Ultrasound Technologist II - Per Diem Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL Per Diem Options (within a 6-week period): As Needed or Level 1 (32-72 hours), Level 2 (73-110 hours), Level 3 (111-144 hours) Per Diem Level Differentials: Level 1 - additional $4.00 per hour, Level 2 - additional $5.00 per hour, Level 3 - additional $6.00 per hour Hours: As needed, Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays On call: 2 times per month (back-up call) What you will do: The Ultrasound Technologist II is an experienced role responsible for performing a wide range of advanced ultrasound procedures and providing expert technical support. This position requires a deep understanding of ultrasound techniques, equipment, and patient care, as well as a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. What you will need: The level of knowledge normally obtained through an accredited Ultrasound program including clinical training. All sonographers must be certified and currently registered as a RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer), RT(S), RT (VS) (American Registry of Radiologic Technology-Sonography/Vascular Sonography), RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must obtain certification within 24 months of graduation from ultrasound program. Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics. We are currently looking for an Ultrasound Technologists to join our team! This is a full time position, 12 hour shifts. PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. It is the responsibility of the technologist to develop consistency in delivery of patient care. QUALIFICATIONS: Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(s) as appropriate to include OB/GYN, ABD, and/or RVT certification/ or Certification by American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) to include RVT certification. Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(s) as appropriate. Experience: Sonographer with 6 months+ experience in Sonography ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician. Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures. Coordinates with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided. Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems. Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required. Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the sonographic area/department. Reports equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member. Provides in-service education to team on requirements of sonographic procedures as requested by other members of the health care team. Performs other related duties as assigned. Demonstration of Skills and Abilities Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment. Ability to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information. Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt sonographic examination as necessary. Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed. Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician. Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient's needs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team. Ability to follow established departmental procedures.
