Position Summary
Primary Vascular Care is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and skilled Ultrasound Technician to join our growing mobile vascular team. In this role, you'll provide high-quality vascular ultrasound services directly within long-term care facilities.
This position is ideal for a vascular sonographer who enjoys independence, variety, and working within a supportive team environment.
Candidates who are not currently vascular certified are still encouraged to apply; we offer up to one year after hire to obtain the certification.
What You'll Do
Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment according to PVC protocols
Confirm patient identity and review clinical documentation
Perform vascular and venous ultrasound exams, including venous reflux studies
Capture diagnostic-quality images and obtain additional images as needed
Use proper patient positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques
Document findings, limitations, and incidental findings accurately
Follow HIPAA guidelines and infection-control protocols
Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment; report issues promptly
Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative teams

Perform abdominal, vascular, and general ultrasound exams using portable equipment

Your Role: As a mobile Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will:
Perform and process ultrasounds, sending them digitally to radiologists for interpretation.
Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment at various facilities to perform exams ordered by physicians.
Obtain clinically diagnostic, technically competent sonography images.
Scan exam-related paperwork and billing each day per protocol.
Maintain regular attendance and uphold professional communication with peers, leadership, and clients.
Ensure the maintenance of your vehicle and sonography equipment.
Keep the required state licenses, certifications, health requirements, and operational standards up to date.

This role focuses on ultrasound support for VEG hospitals and training facilities. You will work closely with emergency doctors to provide same-day ultrasound scans for pets when they need it most. You will also assist in coordinating education opportunities and overall ultrasound training for your home and regional hospitals. Ensure all training content and activities are in alignment with VEG culture, mission, and vision, and represent accurate, up-to-date sonographic techniques
Track doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist
Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance VEG's ultrasound training programs
Regularly meet with the medical directors, VNDCs, and director of radiology education to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needs
Regularly meet with hospital manager and medical director to discuss implementation of new training protocols, training schedules, hospital training needs, and interpersonal concerns
Coordinate weekly schedule with hospital manager and medical director to work on-the-floor shifts and dedicate time to training responsibilities

**_Part-Time - Day Shift_**
**_24hrs/Week_**
**Job Summary:**
The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures and techniques producing diagnostic images for a licensed practitioner to interpret. The Tech demonstrates direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Confirms the quality, accuracy, and confidentiality of all pertinent patient, lab, and procedural data.
+ Knowledge in workflows, procedures, and processes of the imaging modalities.
+ Responsible for patient documentation, procedure preparation and instructions.
+ Documents sonographer's impressions and relays findings to physician.
+ Participates in performance improvement projects and the education of new staff.
**Education:**
+ Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound (required)
**Licensure/Certification:**
+ Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (preferred, or must obtain within 2 years)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)
+ Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)
**Experience:**
+ 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
+ EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
+ Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)

ROLE: Provide mobile ultrasound services to our client base

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
#1 responsibility - Be ON the team! Each of our team members will work to make each other and our processes better every day.
Interact with patients compassionately and professionally by driving company vehicle to each patient, within designated service area.
Perform quality ultrasound studies to transmit to radiologist for interpretation
Submit accurate and timely timesheets, as per protocol
Other duties, as needed:
Scanning, filing, faxing, photocopying, mailing
Attend and participate in meetings
Demonstrate regular attendance
Train other technologists
Perform special projects or other duties, as assigned
Requirements:
Registry required: Vascular and General (ARDMS AB), Echo a plus!
Annual TB screens, physicals, and vaccinations, as required
Valid drivers license, in good standing
