Job Summary: Must be able to perform MFM level scans, including high-quality ultrasound examinations including comprehensive growth scans (detailed anatomy) and Nuchal Translucency scans in accordance with approved techniques and protocols, ensuring the transducer (probe) is correctly capturing images. Perform general OBGYN scans Reviews any prior images and imaging reports prior to ultrasound exam. Reviews and verifies physician's orders. Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains procedures, measures and positions patients for each anatomical view. Evaluates images for quality and interprets images captured; calculates, compiles and records data from numerical readings and records in patient chart. Maintains patient records; adds medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure. Presents images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team. Nemours is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (Casual/PRN) to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for working knowledge, operation and maintenance of all ultrasound related equipment, performance of ultrasound studies to demonstrate various organs of the body and recording these images in the standard formats for diagnosis by a physician. The Ultrasound technologist must be ARDMS registered or registry eligible with completion of registry within one year of date of employment. The Senior Perinatal Sonographer will perform a variety of complex detailed obstetrical exams and guidance for procedures providing high quality imaging for interpretation and diagnosis by a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician/Interventionalist. The Nemours Fetal Care Center and Advanced Delivery Unit is expanding the scope of service to include comprehensive prenatal, obstetrical and postpartum care for women whose unborn fetus has been diagnosed with a birth defect or complex medical condition that will require immediate multidisciplinary pediatric care in the neonatal period. In addition to currently available prenatal imaging to diagnose these conditions, we are also expanding invasive diagnostics and fetal intervention procedures. Essential Functions: As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Perinatal Sonographer, guided by established AIUM and department protocols, clinical assessment and patient's medical history, obtains high quality comprehensive imaging studies and effectively communicates findings to the Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician. The Senior Perinatal Sonographer will perform a variety of complex detailed obstetrical exams and guidance for procedures providing high quality imaging for interpretation and diagnosis by a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician/Interventionalist. The Nemours Fetal Care Center and Advanced Delivery Unit is expanding the scope of service to include comprehensive prenatal, obstetrical and postpartum care for women whose unborn fetus has been diagnosed with a birth defect or complex medical condition that will require immediate multidisciplinary pediatric care in the neonatal period. In addition to currently available prenatal imaging to diagnose these conditions, we are also expanding invasive diagnostics and fetal intervention procedures. Essential Functions: As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Perinatal Sonographer, guided by established AIUM and department protocols, clinical assessment and patient's medical history, obtains high quality comprehensive imaging studies and effectively communicates findings to the Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician.
