Lexington Women's Health is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist to help us continue our tradition of delivering quality OB/GYN care in Lexington, Kentucky.
Variable 4 day workweek (M-F) 8 am - 5 pm, No Nights, No Weekends, No Holidays
Candidate must be certified with ARDMS in OB/GYN Ultrasound. Previous professional OB sonography experience highly preferred.
The Ultrasound Technologist provides ultrasound diagnostic services as directed by physicians. Services to include scheduling, patient care during the procedure, and communication with patients.
Performs routine and diagnostic ultrasound images.
Interacts with physicians and other technical staff to provide quality, safe and efficient care for the patient.
Follows guidelines for probe handling and infection control.
Follows examination protocols under the guidance of the physicians on duty.
Oversees patient scheduling.
Explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
Positions patients, selects appropriate transducers and machine settings.
Conducts scanning procedures.
Ensures maintenance on ultrasound equipment.
Orders and stocks all ultrasound supplies.
Maintains all ultrasound records, reports and files.
Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness in handling all customer interactions.
Performs all other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Current ARDMS required.

Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, limited obstetric and gynecological scans, and a variety of tests to include, but not limited to, carotid imaging, peripheral plethysmography, doppler wave form, segmental pressure, venous imaging, and thoracic outlet studies.

* Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
* Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist's expectations and protocols.
* Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals.
* Supports and reports any identified compliance matters.
* Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
* Maintains professional development and education for technical competency.
* Uses standard precautions, PPE, at all times.
* Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for current position.
* Attends all CHI Saint Joseph Health required educational programs as well as all Learn modules.
* Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resources efficiently.
* Demonstrates complete working knowledge of equipment within assigned area.
* Knowledge and performance of the Code of Conduct Standards.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
* Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or
Graduate of AMA Accredited Sonography Program, or
Graduate of accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required upon hire.
Licensure and Certifications
* Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or equivalent required within 12 months of hire.
* Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) required upon hire.
