Vascular Ultrasound Technologist - PRN/Per Diem
Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist or Vascular Sonographer, you will perform advanced diagnostic vascular non-invasive technological exams, conduct and document ultrasound and/or vascular assessments on patients as ordered, performing these procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner and prioritizing patient care.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist include but are not limited to:
* Perform general and vascular ultrasound exams (abdomen, pelvis, small parts, peripheral vascular, carotid, TCD)
* Perform appropriate evaluations of vascular morphology and physiology according to national standards
* Assist the radiologist in ultrasound-guided procedures (i.e., paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, aspiration)

* Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures

Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers or Sonographers
* Current ARDMS registry for Ultrasound
* RDMS (Abdomen) and RVT, preferred
* Must obtain RVT if not already held
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Minimum of one (1) year post-graduate hospital experience in an acute-care setting as an Ultrasound Tech (2+ years preferred)
* Experience requirement waived for Vascular program graduates
* Must meet hospital call-back requirements of 30 minutes
* Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs

Performs consistently accurate and high quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations. Specific area of expertise is OB/GYN. Maintains a high standard of patient care. All GE Voluson Expert 22 Ultrasound machines on site.
What you will do in this role:
* Applies fetal ultrasound principles in the evaluation of fetal anomalies. Applies gynological ultrasound principles in the evaluation of patient. Adapts to various ultrasound machines while maintaining high standards of sonography.
* Identifies fetal anomalies, such as CNS, maxillofacial, cardiothoracic, abdomen, abdomen wall, genitourinary, extremity placental, umbilical cord growth disturbance. Performs ultrasounds on maternal uterus, cervix and ovaries. Performs complicated twin and triplet scans in conjunction with in-office multiple gestation service. Identifies gynological anomalies such as fibroids, thickened endometrium and polyps.
* Makes preliminary, equivocal diagnosis of gynological and fetal disorders in the organ systems mentioned in above.
* Operates General Electric, Accuson, Medison, and ATL ultrasound machines with proficiency. Continues to expand knowledge of latest technology.
* Maintains ultrasound logging records including past medical history, past surgical history, past obstetric history, and past genetic history.
* Prepares patients for procedures including and not limited to Level I &II ultrasounds, amniocentesis, lung maturity amniocentesis, PUBS, anmio reduction, external cephalic version, and GYN ultrasound.
* Maintains professional relationship with other staff members, other obstetric offices and hospital personnel.
* Exercises independent judgement when interpreting Biophysical Profiles designed to assess fetal well-being. Alerts physicians of potentially dangerous conditions. Diagnoses fetal weight disturbances based on fetal biometry. Diagnoses multiple fetal anomalies and reports and demonstrates them to physician.

POSITION STATUS: Full-time, Part-time, PRN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform transthoracic echocardiograms in accordance with standardized imaging guidelines and TCAVI protocols including:
2D and M-mode imaging of all standard cardiac views
Spectral and color Doppler assessment of all cardiac valves
Evaluation of left and right ventricular size, function, and wall motion
Measurement of left atrial volume, inferior vena cava diameter, and pulmonary artery pressures
Diastolic function analysis
Perform a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to:
Carotid duplex
Upper and lower extremity arterial and venous studies (including DVT and insufficiency exams)
Ankle-brachial index (ABI) and segmental pressures
Abdominal aortic and renal artery duplex
Pre- and post-intervention vascular assessments
Accurately document all pertinent findings, measurements, and image annotations in the PACS system to support timely interpretation, comprehensive reporting, and compliance with IAC and ASE documentation standards.
Communicate effectively with patients and their representatives regarding exam preparation, procedure instructions, and follow-up.
Assist in the onboarding and training of students and newly hired technologists.
Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies and linens; promptly restock and prepare rooms between patients to support efficient workflow and maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
Clean and maintain equipment according to established protocols; report any malfunctions or concerns to the Manager promptly.
Actively support IAC re-accreditation efforts by ensuring accurate documentation, high-quality image acquisition and timely submission of required case studies and supporting materials.
Perform additional duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and skill level of the position.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree or accredited certificate program in Cardiovascular Sonography required.
Registered in Cardiac Echocardiography and Vascular Sonography through CCI or ARDMS required
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in cardiac and vascular ultrasound preferred.
Maintain BLS certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficient in performing cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies and interpreting normal vs. abnormal findings.
Ability to interpret clinical history and symptoms to guide diagnostic imaging appropriately.
