ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & EXPERIENCE
Work with Patient Care Coordinators to appropriately schedule Ultrasound procedures relative to the condition and needs of the patient.
Greet patients and prepares their exam room and equipment for all patients according to physician orders.
Transfer patients safely to treatment table by physically assisting them, giving special care to catheters, IV drips, and etc.
Ensure basics of patient care is carried out during his visit including when moving, positioning, and transporting patients. Making the patient feel at ease and explaining the procedure(s) while answering any questions.
Carrying out diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician and performing analysis of highly technical information.
Review the ultrasound results to ensure that the prescribed images were obtained and relating specific significant findings to the ordering physician.
Review charges daily for correct coding on diagnosis coding.
Maintain a positive and caring atmosphere for patients, families, and co-workers.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform all required diagnostic scanning procedures to produce consistent, high-quality examinations.
Essential Functions of an Ultrasound Technologist:
Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations.
Assists radiologists as needed with ultrasound-guided biopsies and vascular ultrasound procedures.
Recognize and record the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment.
Properly care for sonography equipment and report equipment failure.
Write reports based upon scan results and completion.
Alerts appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention.
Manage multiple priorities and projects and display flexibility in a fast-paced work environment.
