    Job Description Urology Specialists is looking for a qualified PRN Ultrasound Technician (US Tech) to work one day a week, with the potential to cover time off for our full-time technician. The specific day each week will be negotiated with our current full-time technician and Director of Nursing, with hours varying based on both schedules and preferences. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call duties required. The US Tech is responsible for producing images of designated anatomical areas as order/directed and providing clinical and technical support within their scope of practice. Our clinic focuses on transabdominal ultrasounds only. The US Tech follows all established practices and procedures. Assists with image requesting via GE and Avera PACS and reviews dosimetry reports as applicable. Works with physician and administration on special projects and other duties as needed (i.e. data collection, EMR, recognition, etc.). Perform medical ultrasonography in clinic setting and technical assistance as appropriate in the ambulatory surgical center setting. EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of ultrasonography. ARDMS-RDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography/ Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Preferred Certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) EXPERIENCE: Preferred, but not required. New grads encouraged to apply! To maintain certification. * All other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Required: Education - Associates degree in Applied Science Certification - Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) - Within 6-months of hire or transfer; Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred: Experience - 1+ years of Sonographer Experience Education - Bachelors degree in Ultrasound Physical Requirements: Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
