Perform ultrasound procedures as following physicians' orders precisely, maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
Ensure accurate input of patient demographics in the ultrasound system.
Explain the ultrasound procedures to patients, answer their questions, and provide support throughout the process.
Calibrate, maintain and control all ultrasound equipment and report any.
Exercise consistent and safe practices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and self.

Documents care based on standards of care and practice and/or clinical priorities for documentation (assessment, ultrasound procedure, and patient's response during procedure).
Confers and works collaboratively with patient/family/hospital staff in a customer responsive and courteous manner, in compliance with iRESPECT standards and promoting patient/customer satisfaction to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to patient/family, department and hospital information. Adheres to established department and organization policies (i.e. HIPAA, Confidentiality, and Compliance Policies).
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and notifies appropriate personnel.
Maintains required department records, reports and files. Utilizes patient computer systems to enter and retrieve data.
Participates in quality/performance improvement. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement and to produce the best value service.
Provides support to radiology and other medical and hospital staff to provide clinical assistance as needed. Assists in orientation and supervision of new staff members and students when they provide patient care, treatment and services as part of their training.
Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. Responds to problems/opportunities to improve work environment and participates in unit based performance improvement activities which includes committees, monitoring and follow-up.
Assists in care and maintenance of equipment and effective utilization of supplies. Reports malfunction of equipment to supervisor.
Maintains a clean, orderly, safe environment for patients and personnel. Adheres to established policies, compliance/quality improvement, and patient safety, environment and infection control standards.
Provides on-call and call back coverage as required.

Graduate of an AMA approved program in Ultrasound Required and
Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the neonate, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates. Required
