The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The Ultrasound Technologist must be able to handle the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

Responsibilities:
The Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures following professional, technical standard and company specific protocols to produce sonographic images and measurements that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease.
The Vascular Technologist is responsible for the daily operating of ultrasound equipment, while always maintaining a high standard of medical ethics and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of venous disease.
The Technologist should be capable of producing diagnostically sound images with hemodynamic data for physician interpretation.

Clinical Duties
Perform obstetric ultrasounds (first trimester, second/third trimester growth scans, anatomy scans, biophysical profiles, Doppler studies, and amniotic fluid assessments).
Perform gynecologic ultrasounds (transabdominal and transvaginal) to evaluate pelvic structures, ovaries, uterus, and endometrium.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. For exceptions and training outside the US, educational requirements will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require HR approval.
Certificates: Active certification with ARDMS (SPI only is not eligible for hire) or ARRT(S). ARRT-BS is also acceptable if performing breast sonography only. Current compliance with CME requirements. Exceptions require HR approval.

General Description The Mobile Ultrasound Sonographer provides high-quality ultrasound imaging services in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and patients' homes. This role involves utilizing portable ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety while delivering accurate imaging results.
Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations and explaining procedures.
Monitor patients during examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
Ultrasound Procedures:
Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, vascular, and general exams using portable equipment.
Ensure high-quality images are obtained by adjusting technical factors and utilizing proper scanning techniques.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine appropriate imaging studies based on patient conditions.
Equipment Management:
Operate and maintain portable ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is clean and functioning properly.
Troubleshoot any technical issues with the equipment and report concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Documentation and Reporting:
Document patient information and ultrasound findings accurately in electronic health records.
Communicate imaging results to physicians and healthcare team members promptly.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards regarding ultrasound imaging and patient care.
Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices in mobile sonography.
Work Experience Requirements
Education:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification:
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification or equivalent.
Skills:
Proficient in operating portable ultrasound equipment and understanding ultrasound physics.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in various settings.
Experience:
Previous experience in mobile ultrasound or a clinical setting preferred but not mandatory for entry-level positions.
Working Conditions
Travel to various patient locations, which may include hospitals, clinics, and private residences.
Exposure to different environments and patient conditions, including those requiring specialized care.
Ability to lift and maneuver portable ultrasound equipment and assist patients as needed.

Responsibilities
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer provides diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients in the Maternal Fetal Medicine setting. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer works independently and with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to pregnant women.
Explains exam to patient and family prior to the commencement of the test to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
Acquires anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data.
Records/processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure.
Creates a preliminary report for physician interpretation and review/signature.
Assists physician with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.
Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.
Follows the accredited laboratory protocols for obtaining two-dimensional images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode where applicable.
Rotates as needed to cover Sonographer absences.
Performs related and other assigned duties as directed.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited sonography program with a degree in ultrasonography or equivalent.
Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) in OB/GYN.
Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
CPR certification required.
Experience
Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician working in OB/GYN and/or MFM setting preferred.
Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
