Ultrasound technologists use sonography to get a better look at organs, joints, blood vessels, etc. As a travel ultrasound tech with Nomad, you'll be expected to deliver age-specific direct patient care according to unit scope of service, conduct ongoing assessments as determined by patient's condition, facility policies, procedures, and protocols, provide individualized, non-judgemental, non-discriminatory care to all patients, families, and staff.
To apply as an ultrasound tech, or sonographer, with Nomad, you must have an active ARDMS or equivalent certification, evidence of at least one year of experience as an Cardiac Sonography ultrasound tech, and evidence of at least one year of experience in your specialty/modality within the past three years. You must have also graduated from an accredited school within your discipline, and score 80% or higher on all Nomad Health competency assessments. Work Shift and Schedule:
This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager.
Compensation Range:
$37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates the ability to perform ultrasound procedures as requested by referring physicians as well as providing the necessary documentation associated with the procedures.
Participates in all Radiology Management System functions as they relate to patient procedures.
Provides patient education as required.
Participates and is knowledgeable regarding the appropriate methods of cleaning/ disinfection of ultrasound equipment and probes.
Demonstrates knowledge of ultrasound equipment function. Maintains quality assurance guidelines by reporting equipment malfunction to supervisor and BioMed.
Abides by the service delivery standards of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging & Radiology in interactions with patients, visitors, employees or other customers.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required:
Associate's degree or certification in Ultrasound, extensive knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy.
ARDMS Registered or Registry eligible. Registry eligible staff must successfully pass the ARMS exam and achieve registered status within one year of hire.

Essential Functions: 1. Performs the scanning examination requested by the referring physician, modifying the examination, depending upon on the findings demonstrated, and review the examination with the supervising Radiologist if necessary. 2. Assists the Radiologist or the clinician in special procedures such as percutaneous fluid aspiration or biopsy procedures when performed in the department or in Interventional Radiology. 3. Performs routine equipment checks for resolution and other quality control procedures, as necessary. 4. Must be able to react quickly to emergency situations such as patient fainting, patient being unsteady while getting on to scanning table, if unsafe situation occurs (such as a fire), getting patient to safety and sounding alarm. 5. Ability to work alone on shift or on call and perform the job done with confidence in your abilities and in an efficient manner. 6. Job Responsibilities

The sonographer will perform a variety of ultrasound and vascular exams and assist with multiple interventional procedures.
