Minimum Qualifications

1+ years of experience in the legal industry or in education and/or curriculum design.
Passed the bar exam

About the Course Mentor Role
Kaplan University Partners (KUP) is seeking part-time Law/Policy mentors to precollege students enrolled in online programs. Course mentors will engage and support students throughout the course. Mentors also provide support and encouragement at predetermined moments throughout the course, and using digital messaging tools via Canvas inbox. Finally, mentors advise and guide students on course assignments.
In preparation for the role, mentors will complete a paid training program (3 hours of self-paced modules and exercises as well as a live component), receive support from KUP staff, and both give and receive support as part of the course mentor team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide async guidance, feedback and answer questions
Review course assignments, provide direction and answer questions
Answer ad hoc questions throughout the course session
Brainstorm and ideate with students on their final project idea(s)
Be familiar with all course material
Check-in with the program staff at specified periods
Report back on student engagement as requested
Time Commitment:
Approximately 3-10+ hours per week of async engagement, feedback and small operational tasks
Time commitment will vary based on number of students assigned and is expected to be heavier during the summer months (May - August)
