The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and UMass Memorial Health has an opening for a faculty candidate in its Medical Genetics Program. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified in Pediatrics and Board Certified or Board Eligible in Genetics and possess strong clinical and teaching skills. As a pediatric geneticist, opportunities are available to work in a multidisciplinary clinic with Orthopedics, Dermatology and the Craniofacial team. The Patient Safety Observer is responsible to provide continuous safety observation of patients to which they are assigned. The primary function in this role is to ensure patient safety and comfort. As part of the care team the Patient Observer may be asked to participate in supporting the patients with their activities of daily living, including, but not limited to, ambulating, feeding, and repositioning of patients as directed by nursing. I. Major Responsibilities:

The Division of Psychosocial Oncology, led by the Chief, has 26 Psychiatry and Psychology faculty, who are academically productive across a broad spectrum of interests. Clinically, faculty work within interprofessional teams of psychiatrists, psychologists, palliative care physicians, social workers, nurses, and pharmacists to provide state-of-the-art psychosocial care to patients with cancer across the lifespan, including for adult and pediatric, inpatient and outpatient services. Summary
As required by CLIA, testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. The Medical Laboratory Scientist, Senior I, in their role as Technical Supervisor, Technical Consultant, or General Supervisor as defined by CLIA, may be delegated responsibility for technical oversight of the laboratory, including day-to-day supervision of operations and personnel performing testing and reporting results. Under the general supervision of the Technical Director and Clinical Supervisors, the Senior Technologist I also oversees assigned workstations, including Quality Control (QC) review, staff training, competency assessments, and inventory management.

After successful completion of orientation, training, and competency assessment on all applicable instruments and methods, the Senior Technologist I must:
Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and recordkeeping.
Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are analyzed in the same manner as patient samples.
Adhere to quality control policies and document all QC activities, calibrations, and maintenance.
Follow established corrective action procedures when test systems fall outside acceptable performance standards.
Identify issues that may adversely affect test performance or result reporting, and either correct them or immediately notify the appropriate supervisor or director.
Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications, in accordance with 42 CFR 493.1425 and 493.1495.

Job Summary
The Director of Development plays an integral role in strengthening the Mass General Brigham, Academic Medical Centers philanthropic program. The Director is an individual contributor who will be working directly with Department of Medicine faculty and leadership to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals and families. Job Summary
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Specialist to join our research team. This position will focus on implementing and maintaining the hardware and software infrastructure for deep leaning, high-dimensional image analysis using proteomic, genomic and transcriptomic data analysis, and data management/husbandry. The successful candidate will work closely with biologists, computational scientists, and clinicians to extract meaningful insights from multimodal datasets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Data Management & Computational Infrastructure
* Develop and maintain data pipelines for large-scale imaging and sequencing datasets.
* Set up and maintain multi-user GPU/HPC infrastructure for large-scale multi-omics analysis and deep learning model training/inference.
* Manage data storage, versioning, and retrieval in compliance with FAIR data principles.
* Maintain documentation and reproducible workflows using Snakemake, Nextflow, or WDL.
2. Multiplex Immunofluorescence Image Analysis & Spatial Biology
* Develop and implement workflows for Lunaphore COMET and Singular Genomics G4X multiplexed immunofluorescence image analysis.
* Process and analyze high-dimensional imaging datasets using QuPath, ImageJ, Cellpose, and other computational tools.
* Integrate spatial biology data with transcriptomic/genomic data for multimodal analysis.
3. Genomic & Transcriptomic Data Analysis
* Develop and implement workflows for bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq (sc RNA-seq), and spatial transcriptomics data analysis.
* Conduct Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis, including variant calling, gene expression analysis, and pathway enrichment studies.
* Utilize bioinformatics pipelines (e.g., STAR, Cell Ranger, Seurat, DESeq2, Monocle, Scanpy) for data processing.
* Work with long-read sequencing (PacBio, Oxford Nanopore) and epigenomics as needed.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
* MSc or PhD (or BSc with equivalent experience) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or related field.
* Proficiency in Python, R, Java/Groovy and Bash scripting.
* Familiarity with containerized environments (e.g. Docker, Apptainer).
* Familiarity with machine learning / AI for image and genomic data analysis.
* Experience working in Unix/Linux environments and using HPC/cloud-based pipelines.
* Strong organizational skills for handling large and complex datasets.
* Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary research team.
