Caregivers in this position are a part of the Radiology Pulse Program training to advance their ARRT Licensing to become Registered CT Technologists. The CT cross training program aims to attract and empower Radiologic Technologists through comprehensive training, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to proficiently perform 125 CT imaging exams through advancing skills in patient positioning, identifying cross sectional anatomy, operation of computed tomography (CT) imaging equipment and performing image post processing. The intention is to gain the knowledge and clinical experience in preparation for the certification exam. Upon entering this role, caregivers acknowledge the program requirements as set forth in the signed attestation agreement. Caregivers must remain employed as a CT Tech for one year or agree to pay back the total cost of the training program. I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Students of the Pulse program will complete self-paced didactic training 2. Clinical shifts will be completed as a part of the training 3. All completed exams will be loaded onto the ARRT website 4. Upon completion of the Pulse Program, caregivers shall move into an open CT Tech position at that entity. II. Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities: 1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. 2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed. 3. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations. 4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements. 5. Must pass the ARRT CT certification exam within 12 months. 6. Under the direction of the CT/X-Ray Manager/Supervisor, the CT technologist performs all technical procedures within their respective modality obtaining high quality patient scans; is involved with and performs all technical protocol duties as required for departmental research; establishes intravenous access; administers imaging contrast agents in accordance with applicable regulatory accreditation (e.g., ACR) and as directed by protocol under the supervision of the radiologist; ensures that all imaging systems operate at levels of accepted standards and are properly maintained, and if necessary takes corrective action; performs required quality control on all imaging equipment and devices; performs computer acquisitions and analysis as required; manages imaging datasets (e.g., transfer, archive, and retrieval); maintains all necessary records and reports in a correct, timely, and efficient manner. 6. Participates in the orientation, training and sharing best practices to new technologist staff as well as serving as a resource to assist in the onboarding of other staff such as Program Administrators, Fellows, Residents, and other imaging staff. 7.
