Responsible for assessing and verifying patient information for scheduled for medical services. This requires verification of patient's demographic, financial and insurance information. Collects co-pays, deductibles, coinsurances, and down payments. Provides estimates for services when appropriate. Receives and processes patient financial liability payments for current and past balances. The focus is to collect patient liabilities prior to service and to resolve any insurance and financial issues prior to services being rendered. Reschedules appointments when appropriate under the guidance of department leader. This position is the front line for customer service, pre-registration and access to care for scheduled services.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility, gather accurate patient billing information, and performs collections with outstanding accounts receivable.
2. Accurately estimates the patient financial liability (copayments, deductibles, coinsurances, deposits, etc. via obtaining accurate demographic and financial information). Answers patient inquiries regarding their liability and able to explain the variables involved.
3. Receives and processes patient payments.
4. Ensures pre-certification authorization and or referral is in placement prior to service being rendered.
5. Appropriately referring patients to Financial Counselors or Business Office dependent on need of patient.
6. Reschedules appointments when requested by patient or, under advisement of department leader, when due to financial circumstances appointment requires postponement.
7. Enters clear, concise notes concerning financial clearance status in system based on communications.
8. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all job-related policies and procedures and adheres to and consistently applies the Financial Clearance Policy in all patient cases.
9. Assesses gaps in patient coverage to determine patient financial exposure prior to rendering service.
10. Consistently demonstrates ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
11. Performs other duties as assigned, or directed, to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.

Job Summary
Mass General Brigham Health Plan is hiring for two Behavioral Health Specialists to work as part of an interdisciplinary care team providing expert recommendations for managing behavioral health conditions and providing specialized coordination of care for enrollees with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and Substance Use Disorders (SUD).
As the behavioral health clinical expert on the Interdisciplinary Care Team, the Behavioral Health Specialist partners with the Interdisciplinary Care Team, facilities, and providers to address behavioral health challenges, evaluate treatment options, and implement targeted strategies and interventions.

* Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams (ICT)-including LTSC, GSSC, primary care providers, specialists, and behavioral health treatment facilities-to support program enhancements, process improvements, care coordination, discharge planning, and aftercare.
* Participate actively in ICT meetings, contributing insights on behavioral health concerns, treatment options, care strategies, and engaging in collaborative decision-making regarding enrollees' care.
* Receive and triage behavioral health and substance use referrals, coordinating with the ICT and primary care providers to refer enrollees to appropriate inpatient or outpatient services.
* Develop, update, and implement enrollee-centered care plans in collaboration with enrollees and care teams, promoting self-care, shared decision-making, and addressing identified needs through routine engagement and proactive outreach.
* Conduct outreach, assessments, and home visits via telephonic, electronic, or in-person contact for identified enrollees, including routine evaluations and post-transition care.

Responsibilities
Strategy/Business Development: Collaborate with the VP Network Operations, Senior Director, Network Operations, site Medical Director, and Nurse Director to create and manage a comprehensive business and marketing strategy, including physician outreach and the growth of referrals. Develop and implement annual goals for site operations; oversee the development and deployment of strategies and tactics to achieve goals. Establish and manage excellent working relationships with leaders of affiliate hospitals to enhance programs and services offered at each site. Work with unit co-leaders to ensure that staffing levels and resource allocation are appropriate. Ensure timely alerts to appropriate departments for problems relating to the efficient operation of the unit. Serve as the expert and super user for all IS systems. Oversee back-end management of the RTLS system (i.e., badge management) where applicable. Maximize floor visibility and availability for resolution of daily operational issues. Execute onboarding and staffing process for all administrative staff, ensuring appropriate training for clinic staff, in compliance with DFCI and regulatory standards. Oversee patient and provider flow in exam, coordinate with nursing leadership for patient flow in infusion. Determine bottlenecks in patient flow and implement processes to streamline. Monitor OT and staffing levels in close collaboration with the Managers and Nurse Director. Provide ongoing variance analysis of activities and develop improvement plans, as necessary.

Qualifications
The Clinical Services Pharmacist III must meet the following requirements to be hired and maintain their position in the Pharmacy Department at DFCI.

Minimum Experience:PGY2 residency in area of specialty plus 2 years of clinical specialist experience (preferred-such as oncology, palliative care, anticoagulation), or PGY1 plus 5 years clinical specialist experience, or 7 years of clinical specialist experience (such as oncology, palliative care, anticoagulation).

All duties will be performed under general supervision by the Clinical Research Manager.
The following clinical duties will be performed:

* Coordinating the collection and processing of tissue samples and blood samples from patients

**Pay Transparency Statement**
The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
**Hourly Range: $26.70/hr - $29.66/hr**

This position engages in a program of field training to observe and provide therapeutic interventions in a variety of placement settings. Observes, learns, and uses basic skills for behavioral health interventions consistent with the requirements of their academic institution.About Internships at Community Healthlink
1. CHL interns are those looking for their first field placement
2. Interns at CHL work in supportive roles, closely with supervisors.
3. They assist with comprehensive assessment activities, collaborate on treatment plans, provide brief therapeutic 1:1 interventions, milieu management, case management to support aftercare referrals and discharge planning, as well as crisis intervention and de-escalation.
4. Generally, these interns are placed within programs that have a therapeutic milieu, and interns are not completing directly billable activities.
Hiring Range: $15.00 - $15.50

I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Provides clinical support as defined by the level of care and service needs of the population served. Specific treatment expectations are defined by licensing and accreditation standards for each level of care and internship expectations as agreed upon between the student, school, and program.
2. Assists with comprehensive assessments consistent with needs of the population served.
3. Collaborates on the development of treatment plans consistent with regulations as required by the funder/licensor. Participates in treatment planning conferences.
4. Provides case management through brief therapeutic 1:1 interventions to coordinate aftercare referrals and discharge planning consistent with regulations and the level of care. Consults and collaborates with collateral contacts and providers as appropriate for the level of care.
5. Coordinates and facilitates individual or group interventions to address the clinical needs of the needs of the population served.
II. Position Qualifications:

Required:
1. Undergraduate student must be in a Bachelor's degree program in social work, counseling, public health, or related field. Or may be a practicum student in a Masters or Doctoral degree level program in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or related program.
2. Some positions require a current valid US-issued driver's license and a registered, inspected, and insured automobile for work related purposes.
3. For MCI programs, a current valid US-issued driver's license and reliable transportation for work related purposes.

Assists the CCBHC IA team in improving access to evidence-based services for behavioral health clients from diverse communities.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Assists in tracking grant goals.
2. Gathers information from clients and data entry per grant requirements.
3. Contributes to infrastructure development to support sustainability.
4. Participates in training opportunities.
5. Participates on a CHL committee.
6. Identifies and carries out a special project.
7. Performs other related duties.
