Schedule: Week on, week off; Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm or 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Compensation: $28-$33 per hour, depending on experience
Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years in State or Municipality Law Enforcement

Position Summary:
A Signal Armed SecurityOfficer will conduct security services for the surveillance and protection against fire, theft, pilferage, malicious injury, and destruction. Armed securityofficers, equipped with concealed weapons, shall be dressed in a soft uniform for roving patrols and posted at the main lobby entrance of the facility assigned. Armed SecurityOfficers play a vital role by actively observing their surroundings, positively engaging with customers, associates, and responding to emergency situations. All duties listed below are minimum requirements - additional duties listed in the site's Post Orders are requirements as well.
Responsibilities of a Armed SecurityOfficer may include:
Provide reasonable health security and infection prevention controls and screenings, as well as provide escort service to and from staff personnel and State vehicles.
Will conduct and deliver Dedicated services that reflect the company's values, expectations and consistent service in alignment with site expectations/post orders.
Will write detailed and accurate reports utilizing company technology during each shift that align with site instruction/post orders.
Interacting with internal and external personnel on site and promptly report any information that may impact the relationship of the Client to their direct supervisor, the Site Lead Officer or the Dedicated Division Leader.
Responsible for the care of any Signal equipment assigned during shift including company phone, access keys/cards and devices, etc.
Manage daily activities while meeting key benchmarks and expectations set by direct Supervisor such as reporting standards, service quality and performance in line with site specific policies and procedures.
Communicate with direct Supervisor to receive and disseminate information through daily huddles, such as the Client needs through post orders to ensure operational excellence and efficiency.
Site Requirements:
21 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years prior state or large municipality law enforcement experience
Pass a background check and drug test
Must be able to obtain an Alaska Armed Guard License
Complete SPI training modules within first month
Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills

Ability to conform to established procedures and to help identify and solve problems

Performs SecurityOfficer duties and provides supervision to staff to protect life and property against theft, vandalism, misappropriation, fire, flood, or similar disaster on assigned shift in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
Pay: $22.48/hour plus an additional $4.93/hour (up to maximum of 40 hours per week) used to offset the cost of elected benefits
Hours: 1pm-7:30am or Monday/Tuesday: 3pm-11:30pm, Wednesday/Thursday: 11pm-7:30am, Friday/Saturday off, Sunday: 7am-3:30pm

Vacation: Minimum of ten days per year. Actual days are based upon your Service Date
Sick Time: Accrued sick time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, capped at 56 hours per year

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Serve as supervisor of the department during assigned shift. Must be able to work all shifts which are day, prime and overnight.
* Maintain schedules and monitor visitors and reception area.
* Ensure the physical safety of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment. Maintain log of findings and corrective action taken.
* Train security transportation officers in safety procedures.
* Assist in reporting and suppressing fires, theft, and vandalism.
* Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances. Conduct preliminary investigation and submit accident reports.
* Act as liaison with neighboring law enforcement and fire agencies when in charge.
* Perform administrative paperwork, i.e., logs, control sheets, accident reports, and conduct investigations as directed.
* Teach classes on safety topics such as first aid, CPR, driving, and commercial driving instruction/ examinations, when certified and/or qualified to do so.
* Assure accountability of students, children, staff, and visitor check-in and check-out proceedings by supervising alarm station coverage.
* Maintain vehicles for routine service, clean vehicles, check fluid levels. Perform routine vehicle equipment inspection daily, including lights, brakes, mirrors, steering, and other required operating equipment. Recommend mechanical repairs as needed.
* Ensure adherence to established schedules for CDL / DOT requirements/compliance.
* Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
* Transport students to and from Center. Perform accountability functions as assigned. Ensure proper student behavior and care of vehicles.
* Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center, which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
* Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
* Perform all other duties as requested.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Two (2) years related experience and/or training with an organized security department or experience with security duties.
* Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.
* Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Six (6) months experience successfully working with personnel from the USCG Marine Safety Office during announced and unannounced TCA inspections and compliance checks preferred
* One (1) year participating in Transportation Security Industry regulated drills and exercises preferred
* One (1) year experience providing security services at a MTSA or TSA regulated facility preferred
* Prior experience in Law Enforcement, Military Police, or Private Security.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Provide protection of work sites, personnel and assets from such events as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive events and conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time.
* Control access of personnel, materials and equipment to and within the work sites.
* Perform security patrols of worksites and respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines, suspicious activity or security breaches of any kind.
* Enforce policies and procedures; make an arrest if necessary, using handcuffs.
* From a variety of body positions, load, unload, aim and fire handguns, shotguns and other agency firearms under conditions of stress that justify the use of deadly force and at levels of proficiency prescribed in certification standards.
* Perform searches of people, vehicles, vessels, buildings, and large outdoor areas which may involve feeling and detecting objects, walking over uneven terrain for long periods of time, confronting suspicious persons, assessing intentions, and taking action as appropriate.
* Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters to include administering emergency medical aid, lifting, dragging and carrying people away from dangerous situations and securing and evacuating people from particular areas as well as directing traffic for long periods of time, extinguishing fires by using a fire extinguisher and other appropriate means.
